This begs this question here: What will happen if the Banking Clan actually collapse? How can the Separatists and the Republic continue the war anymore after this? Of course, a number of raids between the two parties would become the norm but I doubt the loots from those raids can help much. And the increase amount of taxation on their citizens will only be just the temporary solution. So yeah, they will have no chocie but to call for a ceasefire for like a decade to restore basically everything in the galaxy. It will be a lost for the Republic and a pyrrhic victory for the Separatists if a truce is called for both sides.

Most central banks are more like the banking guild in that they are not part of the government of the nation in which they operate. They are private organizations that are delegated certain powers - often time b/c they are the primary bank the national government of the nation in which they operate uses for regular banking transactions from paying salaries to dispersing funds the national legislature spends.

I really don't understand why Clovis didn't just give Dooku the finger when he asked him to raise the taxes for the republic. I mean what's Dooku gonna do, reveal that it was his idea to put Clovis to the IGBC's head of the banks? So what, it was only a proposition and then it could clearly be shown that Clovis cannot be manipulated by the seperatist. At that point the seperatists only move would be to attack which equals suicide for them, since the republic would obviously respond to the IGBC's help. The whole thing just doesn't add up. Also: F

Not gonna lie, I still find this arc pretty boring. However, seeing Palpatine play literally everyone into submission and Anakin flirting dangerously close to the Dark Side is just awesome. For the most part, Anakin in The Clone Wars feels almost like a completely different person to Anakin in the movies so I love it when there are these moments when Anakin almost snaps.
