This guy is spot on! Spot on! He is pointing out the hypocrisy and clear flaws of our culture and system that has done more damage than good. We have been brought up as a slave of our own minds. I lived in India until the age of 14 and then in US. As many flaws that US has, I have no shame in admitting that the system here promotes individual freedoms and self awareness far far better than India.

How many have of you heard about PRMO, NSEP, NSEJS, NSEC olympiads? I don't think many people have, But how many of you guys have heard of SOF IMO, SOF NSO, NSTSE olympiads, i think most students have And that's the messed up part, These SOF olympiads copy names of prestigious tough olympiads like "INTERNATIONAL MATHS OLYMPIAD" and exploit it for their benefits The admission fees for such olympiads will be very high, around 250~ per student and in return, they will just make the dumbest/easiest test paper of all time by copying ncert questions and will advertise their olympiads heavily. The real Olympiads are the ones i mentioned above, these olympiads have stages and all of them lead to one international olympiad which is actually "INTERNATIONAL" which is conducted abroad, these papers don't follow the school's regime and they involve out of box thinking and requires actual conceptual clarity instead of mugging up formulas Very few people are aware about these real olympiads and its saddening. Those students who clear International olympiads and actually represent India in such levels are barely shown any respect or television or whatever, What happens next? Foreign universites and colleges value them by offering them to their country, and when these hardworking talented students leave, They are called as "Deshtrohi". Wish people weren't so blind

Homeschool isn't a proper solution to this. In fact, by this, the child would further face communication problems. Also lack of sports and fun with friends would kind of mould the child into an introverted depressed adult. The entirety of school isn't bad, only the education system is. Either way, man, your child, your decisions, you are accountable for his/her childhood. Do what you think is right.

Ok, So According To that logic, Bill gates and steve jobs, Elon musk, Dhirubhai ambani are and were depressed adults, The fact is that if he/she Starts Running and takes cares of his own health. Does It Means It Will not Profit Them In Future ? If Everyone Is Here To Do Enjoyment, I Don't Know What Will be his future, My Father did the same, He was wasting his young years playing and going out with his friends, But now he is not able to earn 200-300 Rs A Day. Most of the people are not skilled Person, Because they wasted their time outside with useless friends, Who will not change Even after many time. I Was Doing the same, But i realized that You need some vision in your life to follow such that you will achieve something at end. There is a big reason why all the successful people were introverts because they invested a lot of time in their business, their family, and maybe some friends. I don't see extroverts anywhere. They are famous in doing scam because ultimately they didn't learnt anything. Another example why japan and china are way ahead than indians and other countries, because of their introverted and disciplined culture. You need to understand the fact that success needs hardwork and sacrifice and if you are not willing to do then i would say to stay away from commenting on these type of things. Because your comment might be influencing Millions of people to leave their work. And do all the childish things that they used to do in the childhood. @@soakedlemons9990

How to make it stop. I'm just circling around the system to survive. I haven’t live my life at all. Somebody else is living it for me. I've no control over it. Once it happened in my school. I was in Class 12 and my school's headmistress is a total dickhead. First of all she was wrong at what she says and secondly nobody has the courage or authority to question her. Once when all this non sense was getting out of hand I stood up against her in a conference she was having with us. She was not accepting her faults even though I was saying them out loud amongst the whole crowd. The teachers just stood there watching me do this. After I stopped she ended the conference and went back to her room without saying anything more. Next day I was suspended for 1 month but the other students and teachers in the school now look upon me a as role model who stood up for good. Even though I am hated by her now but I have gained a massive respect from the student body and the teachers and love that. And I repeat I will not fall into this trap of "slavery".

Getting humiliated and scolded by teachers and parents for the entire studenthood and still running after what you are not is crazy…society and the typical indian parent mindset needs to change… What I want to say is the story is same in both the worlds..whether you top your class or you are a bottom ranker the frustration is all the same.. I can see youth of India today taking up all the western cultures, yet they are still stuck into the old times mindset of becoming a govt “SERVANT” rather than focussing on there capabilities and doing something on their own rather than begging someone for something!!!

Abhi bhi mein India ke top arts college mein hun and wo normal engineering college, but fir bhi they think of me as with lesser knowledge than them. But thank god, the same teacher you are taking about was in my life for past few months, you are really right. Aapne duniya dekhi hai and samjhi hai. During my final year in high school, all of my classmates were tired with teachers trying to make us feel unworthy, we were constantly compared with our juniors and we also got the title of "Worst Batch In The History". The teachers acted very immature, our photos were not included in the school magazine and our farewell was ended in rush. Reason for this nasty treatment was, we often questioned them and didn't blindly act on their words. They wanted us to follow them like a sheep but we didn't. Im glad we we stood up for ourselves.

The comparison but hit me really hard. From my very childhood my parents compared me with everyone else. They had immense expectations from me and had a baseless assumption that I will excel in every field. Despite giving my best I was never good enough for them and they never let me forget that. I was treated as a third class member of the family. They controlled every bit of my life and even selected my "hobbies". I was forced into every tuitions that were available as well as cocurricular activities according to their tastes. My self confindence took a nose dive being constantly compared and never being treated as their son. I got into depression and even thought about ending my life once. It took me a few years to get out of the depression and insomnia that I had developed over the years. I still lack confidence but I am working to better myself. I had lost all hope and controll over my life. I wish to live life to my fullest and one day get over all my insecurities.

You must understand that, cruel though it sounds, your parents were trying to prepare you for the world you would grow into. They knew you would be ruthlessly compared when you find work to your fellow colleagues. In our lives, isn't everything a matter of comparison? That is what we should change. Unless we do, our parents would carry on being what you described.
@aritrachatterjee363

@@bobbybannerjee5156 yes but doing that from the very childhood destroyed my confidence to the level where I couldn't make friends or talk to people. Being controlled on every aspect of life and comparing results is like testing a machine. Because of this mindset our parents get away with this kind of behavior, oh son I was preparing you to be a grown up now you pay for your own therapy for the damage I caused over more than a decade. Your employer can compare you but not your family or friends. So my parents are grown up right, so is it okay for me to go to my dad and ask him why he is poorer than my friends dad? Why couldn't he do high paying jobs so we could live more comfortably? He should be okay with it right as he is a grown up?

the thing with English is, it's a language, not just another subject. You can't master it like maths, where you study for 2 hrs a day and you'll become proficient. You need to practice it, and since you're using other languages elsewhere, it's best that children learn that by speaking it continuously in school.

@@ageless1003Economics of language??? majority in the world learns and completes school education in their mother tongue not in english. Simply put and in someway the Govt is the biggest culprit as there is no encouragement toward inpiring and helping free thinkers and innovator grow and feel appreciated in India. India has been turned into a factory of employable talent rather than a factory of innovation. Hats off to those who battle all odds to come up innovations at orgs like ISRO but that is a miniscule chunk of the head count attending Grad Schools. Just look at the C level execs and master innovators of Indian origin and its mostly after they migrated abroad they got the due space and recognition to explore more of their talent and innovative energies
