There are pros and cons to both sides. Yes a free health care system is a wonderful concept, UK for example not having to pay for x-rays, blood tests, scans, medicine while in hospital is great but prescription-based medication outside of hospital is still charged at approx $12 per item. Then there are the wait times, that's partly down to the fact of free healthcare but also down to the government's spending. I disagree with the fact US citizens have to pay so much in taxes and more on healthcare but most are probably not aware that the US spends more on healthcare than any other nation, 17% of its entire GDP and $11,000 per capita compared to the next down Switzerland at 12% and only $8,000 per capita. As a result, treatment and wait times are significantly better compared to the UK who only spend $4,200 per capita and only spend 10% of GDP. A half-way solution like Sweden have would be better suited to most first-world nations. They pay for their healthcare but it's capped and in most regions you won't pay more than $130 in a 12-month period, prescriptions are a bit higher at a $260 cap but if you're on multiple medication for a extended period or for life then this dramatically helps in the long term. Only 6% of Swedish population pay for healthcare insurance and this is usually incentives through employers and only for things like wait-times. Given that they are 3rd in the world for overall healthcare, number of doctors, etc it's all-in-all a very nice system.

In Ireland we have a thing called a medical card if you don't work you get one so any medical bills will be free , but I work but I still don't pay massive amounts of money to get treated for example I shattered my collarbone and needed surgery 3 years ago I only paid 80 euro and that was only for the doctor visit , You should never be in debt over your health, its like the Americian systems profits off its citizens been sick/ill in which they do , My government don't want me sick because it will cost them money , your government profits off you because you pay ridiculous prices for your health , for god sake Americians have to pay for an ambulance that's just absolute madness

@@buncle4339 I tried to get an ADHD test in Ireland but the wait time was over a year. Went back and got it in the US with no problem.

Lets be honest here, all these new sexy labels people are giving for what many of us call thinking and creativity are just rebranding of methodologies that go back to Plato and Aristotle. Whether it's called Design Thinking or whatever chic label, these new or different ways of thinking are neither new or innovative. But are really there just to make someone sound important when they are not.

Everyone wants to earn money, nobody can get a well paying job either, hence why they don't want to pay for it. When it costs a fifth of a vehicles price just to be driven in it to a hospital, i believe healthcare costs are beyond screwed.

Everything is more and more expensive, why? The bureaucracy, red tape, and corporate creed has made things cost so much more. Do we need all the stuff? We are taxed more and more every single year. Governments all around the world expand to make the world a better, but when is it enough? We no longer eat real food. There is sugar in everything and more, highly processed this and that. Most people today are overweight and have so many health issues and we are dependant on medications to keep us going. I’m tired of it all. Planned obsolescence and other strategies are now common place. It cost more to repair that printer than to buy a new one. Few people have the skills to fix anything. No one wants anything for free, but many of us struggle to keep our heads above water. I could go on but you get some of the picture.
