It took my 3 years and 3 demolished accounts to tame my impulses, only to a point where I can make money.......CONSISTENTLY. I quitted, then un quitted. It’s a long hard road, and we never stop learning and improving, enjoy the journey. Pain was my teacher, she’s a harsh taskmaster, but her lessons are priceless. Enjoy the journey. Peace

sometimes I confuse patience with hesitation which can be a big issue, specially for short term trading when you have to make decisions in fractions of a second

You can't learn from mistakes if you don't make any. I've destroyed 2 accounts now, and I'm finally in a place where I feel at peace with my trading. The hardest part for me was committing to the stop losses. It's hard being down 10% on a trade, so you sell your position, only to see it rocket up 30%. It sucks, but it's part of life. At least you protected your capital in the process. We're all becoming better traders one day at a time.

Impatience. Totally my problem. Selling stocks at a loss over and over. Not doing it anymore though.

If the Markets were sensible, this would be easy. Money Management is the answer. Life is good, life is very good.

I find its essential to be patient particularly when you've done something stupid and traded against the market. Sitting tight and playing a waiting game for days and weeks are a by product of making a poor decision. The markets do turn eventually.

Becoming consistent is the threshold that I'm going to accomplish soon, if you just click on the history of your mt4 it would show you answers you've been looking for, some mistakes you need to learn from, it's same on why people ignore to look at their bank account, when they are broke but the Truth lies in their account manger or trading instructor,

Similar to my low odds betting strategy. Live line stays open for final 1 minute of game. If I can let the game mature and analyze who has the momentum to end game, I can go far. But i lose patience and let my emotions take over

I bought three sweet five week out contracts, puts,on KO. I KNEW it was going to fly down within five days, but the second (the next day) I saw the profit I sold all three contracts. I told myself as I was starting to sell, to keep one contract in play. BUT NOOO. I had to sell all three. Two days after I sold all three contracts KO hit the low number I KNEW it was going to hit, it went even lower two days after that!! I’m so goofy happy to see the profit that I completely ignore my initial plan…to wait. I’m so irritated that I could not wait 4 days. Just 4 days. Yes, I’m making profit, but this is really teaching me something about myself that I need to work on. I am so happy to come across this video and to know it’s ‘a thing’. But I need to find away to deal with this type of impatience. I started trading seriously on January 2022. I’m not doing too badly. I’m learning something with every losing and successful trade. How can I temper my impulses to sell at first profit, especially when I know it’s going to do better in a matter of days or weeks??? I’ll take any helpful suggestions. Thank you for your video!!!

I am more than a novice and less than an intermediate trader, having traded actively for 1-year. The key to patience, I'm finding, is confidence in your trades. I have spent a considerable time developing trade plans for different situations - back testing, trading on demo, etc. I am finding that this gives me the data required to - fine tune a trading pattern/strategy (support to reinforce the pattern is legit or signals to stay out), develop data that supports the claim that a pattern has a higher probability of success/an edge on the market and - key - develops confidence in the pattern that justifies being patient. I've been watching your videos since I started trading and find then short, concise and informative. Not all apply to my style of trading but most provide insight into areas that deserve consideration. Thanks for your help. Perhaps, some ideas for us newbies on developing confidence, as I find the mental side of trading as - if not more - challenging than finding a pattern. If you don't pull the trigger (confidence), you will always be a waterboy vs. a trader.

it was not a day to trade because market and therefore i was in a mindset forcing setups . if i noticed todsy was one of those steady holding days then the strategt to buy and hold the rally with tight SL would have been great strategt backtested it i experience it all the time. strategy everyday depends on the market becauee i know those days holding green jus trend solid steady green for the day bullish day = strategt pivot the market. thing is couldn’t trade and i didn’t care i overtrade

Every trade is a coin flip you cant really get -10 losses in a row just the risk to ruin on your acc
@londonspade58964 жыл бұрын
Some people suggest risking 2% per trade, so that would mean $60 from your £3k account . You would look at the chart and see where you want your stop loss, just below a support line for example, and if that is 4% lower than your entry price you would trade with $1,500, if it's only 2% lower then you can use the whole $3k for example.

I have lost £20,000 trading and keep loosing and said to myself maybe I should start with small margin. I tried trading weekly S/R levels and still quit after 2 days qfter my account went to £70+ back to -£30, I exitedy trade and brought back on demo and it went back higher on the same day 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Selling only for the trade to recover immediately after happens to everyone at some point. Maybe you're putting too much risk on individual holdings? Undoubtedly this is a challenging time to trade. However with the present volatility you should put your money across a number of holdings so if you get hit (and you will get hit!) it won't be too painful. And don't leverage yourself too much.
