I had to admit that I didn’t know how this interview would go with the language barrier. But I was pleasantly surprised on how well it was conducted. Peach is a talent and a treasure. Thank you for asking very poignant questions. And I like how you sprinkled in some of your fanboy questions in. A masterful interview. I very much enjoyed it. Thank you!

Chris, you are a great interviewer of artists and writers. Excellent follow-up questions-it shows you are listening to the responses. I’ve become a huge fan of Peach’s work-more than I expected when I first saw it, although I’ve always admired the surface elements. Her stories hooked me. Such an honor to get a close-up view of her process and perspectives!

I'm so glad she mostly has control over what she's doing, She has such a distinct voice/vision as a storyteller. It sounds like a reasonable exchange about how to communicate to an audience with a different cultural language.

This was quite interesting! I especially liked hearing the insight on her process for getting the art for the book done. I imagine the consideration for colors mentioned (making sure stuff like Armor's armor stays similar throughout the whole issue) is a pretty major part of it, though I imagine doing the whole book also helps with keeping her in the right "mode", since I imagine constantly switching between pencilwork and brushwork would be a little difficult.

@@ghengis423 Peach was also working during her Kayfabe interview. I think its THE format of her English-language interviews. I believe that the relaying of questions, and the non-comprehension of English, lend themselves quite neatly to Peach having something to do; rather than staring at the interviewer - and our screen - in bored confusion, as two gentleman talk in english for minutes on end.

What a beautiful interview, Chris. You made my day it was a wonderful experience to get to know about Ms.Momoko thought process when it comes to painting and writing the story. I love her mindset about characters to the point that I am an everlasting fan, I will follow every work she does, including if she starts displaying art in a museum. I will attempt to buy a big beautiful gallery display for 50,000$ 😂 But also, this interview further proves that ultimate x-men by peach momoko is the best ultimate book ever imo. P.S: I love Mr. Mutsu, he is such a cool guy, and I want his job where I can just sit around doing emails,interviews, etc. While also playing video games 😊

Super interesting interview! I really respect the commitment to the authenticity of her work and and the devotion to the heart craft of making the whole story herself the whole art herself it's rare for someone it's rare that in an editorial like Marvel we get such a personal approach to comics

True 💯 agree with you that's why I will say that Ms Momoko truly is unique of a person and I love her for that well also shows that she is the right person for this new version of uxm. And I want to see peach continue doing her own thing. Well shut off around people in the internet demanding for familiarity, I respect people voicing their opinion on peaches uxm, but I feel these opinions shows hypocrisy among marvel and some x-men fans.

Thank you for conducting this interview - it was great seeing one of my favorite creators sharing their process. Ultimate X-Men has been a great read so far. The pacing is great, and the overall feeling is both familiar and new all at once. In an age where there is so much rehashed, it is great to see the familiar reinterpreted in a fresh but faithful manner - the themes are there and it feels "right", it you also have NO IDEA WHERE THIS RIDE IS GONNA END.

Great interview, especially given the language barrier. There’s so many additional questions I have after this, like, if the Peach doesn’t do much planning of the story and Marvel gives her free rein in regards to fitting into the Ultimate universe, what’s the plan? Will Ultimate X-Men cross over with the other books when the Maker is released in a year?
@undead79719 күн бұрын
I really want to meet Peach someday at a convention and land a coveted commission. I have thought a lot about what I would ask her to draw if given the chance. Maybe it would be cool to ask her to draw something she thinks I would like without even knowing me. What art could she come up with? Someday! Great interview. I like to learn more about Peach and her process whenever anyone can share it. Even though she stays away from studying manga and comics I still want to know which comics, Marvel comics she has read that are her favorites, her favorite manga, favorite movies and music she has enjoyed the most in her life. She is my favorite modern artist in comics and otherwise. As a 90s kid who became inspired to learn more through X-men comic books, video games , anime and rock music, her art hits on so many of these points of interest for me. She is simply amazing. With or without a purpose her art is amazing.
