I just got the Rift S a couple of days ago and the first game/app I installed was VR Chat. I hadn't experienced VR before and was under the misconception that you needed VR to play it so after years of saving up enough for a good PC and headset I was really looking forward to it. I could have just went with the Quest or Quest 2 but those didn't exist when I started saving and by the time they released I had already invested a lot of time and money on my PC. Anyway, one of the first people I met in VR Chat was a furry ERP-er. I didn't really have any opinion of ERP-ers or furries because I didn't know any people who were into it but I try not to judge people for stuff like that and he turned out to be a really cool, welcoming guy. I had a great time hanging out with him and his boyfriend as they showed me around a couple of worlds and taught me how the game worked. They're both now on my friends list. I know there's a stereotype of furries and ERP-ers where people think they're extremely promiscuous and try to force it on other people but from what I've experienced so far, nothing could be further from the truth. I'm neither and it wasn't a problem at all. I think the only time it was a major conversation topic was when they explained about the fictional species' used by furries because I mistook one of them for some kind of pokemon lol.

We have Dissociative Identity Disorder and Phantom Touch is something some of our alters are super sensitive to. For us phantom touch is very intense and when we go on VRC we have to be careful where we go. If a player walks through us or touches us unexpectedly for example, it could cause us to dissociate, switch, or even black out. It's still fun though when we are around people we know and trust. Never tried ERP, not sure we ever will, but when people give us hugs for example we can feel the pressure and body warmth against our body. Being in VR is also an intense experience because being inside an avatar feels almost exactly like fronting to us.
