How people's struggles with CSS evolve over time

i think a lot of frustration with css for beginners in their first year of using it is that all courses on css tell you its really easy and everybody can learn it easily. and first you learn changing fonts and colors, which is super easy and everybody is fine with it and then you learn layouts and it is significantly harder to grasp than changing the color and there are multiple ways to do it, but courses don't acknowledge that. so you end up guessing a lot and it works for only 50% of your tries and it sucks. and responsiveness is even one step more abstract. so i think the most frustration for beginners comes from getting the impression everything should be really easy, but in reality it takes some effort and getting used to it. at least half the people i started coding with hate css and are looking for ready-made solutions instead of trying to actually use it themselves.

I remember trying to learn css before grid and flex and because it didn't make any sense, I gave up
