Wow , over 5,000 views and 136 comments . 326 thumbs up and 3 very silly people who couldn't turn around their shitty day with a great upload . Great stats. Excellent & informative . In regards to the rubbing of amber, then smelling it, people also do this with Bakelite jewelry. It has a distinct smell. That's how you tell the real from the fakes. Wanna know if the stone in the ring is a real stone and not a fake one. Pick up the ring by its shank , and lightly place it to your cheek. A real stone will be cold, for it doesn't absorb the heat as much or as quickly as a fake/plastic one. It's all about the density. Wanna know if your stone has been enhanced, well that will be on the next lesson. Don't know why I just went on a tangent, I just did. I know why now, I like you too.

Natural ingredients. The first comment was spot on, they use this in food as well. castorium is a natural ingredient that can taste, or smell like caramel, or vanilla when used in various amounts. however, this ingredient comes from the scent gland of a male beaver.

That restriction of the lilly of the vally chimicasl (wich tge namesv now escapes me) ruined a lot of fragrances. Including a very famous and gorgeous house. Sorry but it is too much. I don't know what to think of IFRA. Sometimes I really think that to push their material they are restricting things that actually are not dangerous.

I think you guys miss the point regarding natural versus synthetic. It’s not about the quality of the smell. That’s not what people are really concerned about. It’s about all the dangerous and undisclosed chemicals under the umbrella of synthetic “parfum” many, including endocrine disrupting pthalates and parabens which are linked to cancer and infertility. It’s not about anything else except that. Perfume is largely unregulated and almost any dangerous synthetic can currently be put into the umbrella of “fragrance”. Who knows what people are putting on their skin. Scary to think.
@WaftsfromTheLoft
@WaftsfromTheLoft Жыл бұрын
Have you seen our ‘follow up’ video to this? It’s titled ‘Perfume without chemicals’. There is an increasing problem with ‘green washing’, people automatically claiming that ‘all natural’ is safer, when that is not always the case, and these claims of ‘all-natural’ are not at all substantiated. It’s certainly not a black and white issue.

loved hearing you speak until you got to the part about dissing people for wanting an all natural perfume. There has only ever been one perfume, not two, that was not all natural that I have tried that either didn't give me a headache or that I could not stand after half an hour. Imaginary Authors Decisions Decisions and an amber in a big gold bottle ......that I distressingly cannot remember the name of... I love but apart from these I never have I had a perfume with synthetics in it that I can stand in the dry down. I love fragrance and Teone Reinthal has been such an incredible perfumer to follow for the past few years as finals I have the fragrances I have been dreaming of and dont make me sick with a migraine or rush for the soap to scrub it off! I have not tried your perfume and would be very curious but super wary because ...synthetic base most often equals horrendous in my olfactory option. I also find that natural scents evoke a deep cellular memory that synthetics fail to do. They might smell ok but take me on a journey ...no

which is the best book i could buy that deconstructs all the famous perfumes (both currently available and from the last 50-60 years) to reveal which plant flowers/barks/roots/resins they come from, or if the ingredient is synthetic, which plant it would have come from if sourced from natural materials? what i would like to be able to do is to understand the derivation of every perfume i enjoy, so that i can grow & enjoy the plant/scent in its natural form. perhaps eventually i might gain enough knowledge on the correspondence between plants and the perfumes derived from them that i would be able to tinker around with essential oils to create some personalised scents that smell exactly as i would like them to. the first step would be to understand which plant species/oils match which commercially available perfumes. i want to be able to twin plant species with perfumes, rather learn about the chemical basis of perfumes which i'm completely uninterested in. of course every perfume will have multiple ingredients /notes, but i would still like a break down of which plant(s) went into the making of a specific perfume.
