Bryan mentioned the fish hydrolysate seemed to boost his microbial populations, but didn’t know why. From my understanding, the oils naturally present in the fish contain fats that make incredible fungal food, which is part of the reason why fish amino acids play such a crucial role alongside IMO within the KNF methodology. You get the benefit of the aminos as a readily available N source (as well as a multitude of other elements), and it feeds that fungal population from the IMO, thus speeding up that bacterial to fungal ratio balancing effect and improving nutrient cycling etc.

Love the info here thanks... You guys familiar with the Raw NPK Industries nutrients? Their lineup include both grow and bloom microbes! I've also been watching Harley Smith lately. cheers

58:00 knf is about IMO#4 high fungal spores inoculate for sand silt and clay and theory about nutrient cycling because is about enzymes and solid state fermentation as well. we want capture carbon and fungal hyphae is carbon rich material, F:B ratio change thru succession of plant from water to old growth forest, knf is scalable as fuck

Brandon is a knowledgeable dude but his focus on yield and profit is quite annoying.. some people actually do this shit for patients and soley because we love the plant. Of course we want yields but damn.. his hyperfocus on it just rubs me the wrong way. Also I love how Bryant asked him how he can verify the microorganisms in his "consortium" and other than a dry spore count he can't. Lol but hey whatever 🙃 still a great episode nonetheless I just had to say how I felt..

Im glad someone pointed it out that he can't quantify his microorganisms. Ive seen in other podcast where he almost refuses to get it done. Alot of people are like that. People don't want to know the actual truth of what's going on in their soil.
