Honestly, I think the best way they could do this (and my pipedream) is: Low cost apartments scattered around the city, reusing already existing houses/buildings that are just for show. Stormwind, for example, has tons of buildings with doors that are just graphics. Make them clickable and you can zone/phase into your apartment. That way you can choose which district you want to be in or whatever. High cost houses built into a new housing district. Stormwind, you can blow out the back of Mage District and reclaim all that land. Make a pretty new district with cute streets and like, four house types to click on. For Ironforge, you could have a housing district in Old Ironforge; just build it up in the ceiling/walls and have it connect to Ironforge proper. Etc etc. I have no issue with cities expanding out a bit more, or using space which has been vacant for yeaaaaars.

I think it truly shows in the mega dungeon question. It's easy to say "omg why did you have to dodge the question", but I actually liked his answer of "TBD". It's great that they are actively thinking about their approach to content and that nothing is off the table. I liked DF and I also like TWW but it's true that there is a risk of being too formulaic. And the fact that they want to switch things up a bit and do a bit of "best hits" of WoW (sometimes mega dungeons, sometimes smaller dungeons, sometimes 1 boss raids, sometimes big raids, but mostly medium size raids) is great to hear and I'm really looking forward to it.

All the wow production profs could be useful for this

I'm not sure if we need a full on primary Carpentry since housing may not be for everyone, but subprofession I'm here for it. It could utilize other professions to make it work. I'm at the point where I actually trust Ion when he says he wants our feedback. People like to focus on the things that Blizzard fails to deliver on, but they've quietly added and iterated on some of the best player-requested features in these past couple expansions. Dynamic flight, account-wide progress, profession revamp (not perfect but still far better than old professions imo), cross-faction, Delves (and other improvements to world content), etc. Yeah it's unfortunate when patches feel rushed and come out buggy, but they're delivering on a *lot* of promises that historically they haven't delivered on. So I believe him when he's candid about what sorts of things they change their mind on (like Brann sticking around), but also when he talks about how they intentionally revealed Player Housing right now before it's been worked on a ton so they can get that feedback ahead of time and not have to go back and fix things that they thought were good, but didn't get received well. I'm just really glad we have people like Ion and Holly who genuinely seem like they're being authentic with us when it comes to WoW.

The question about "will there be more than just Stormwind?" was very poorly phrased IMO. Obviously there will be more than just Stormwind, but I think the better question is "will there be more than just Stormwind and Orgrimmar?" One of the things I personally disliked about Garrisons was that they only came in two flavors. There was no option to have different styles and themes to represent each culture within the player's main faction. I couldn't have a blood elf base or a night elf base. The Alliance Garrison at least felt like it had more of an "Alliance" feel to it, but the Horde Garrison was just an orc base. I am at least cautiously optimistic because Ion specifically mentioned how "late to the party" WoW has been on this, he acknowledged that there are many other examples of player housing from which to draw inspiration and that they need to be able to compete with those offerings. Unfortunately this also means it will likely be impossible to please everyone with whatever they have in mind. My only hope is that we have enough options that it will at least please most people.

I don't think Ion, or another soul on this planet, would assume player housing would ONLY be in Stormwind with nothing for Horde. Ion wouldn't pull a, "Hah! I said it'd be more than Stormwind! We gave Horde player housing so we technically didn't lie!" That would be insanely ridiculous to even think.

I’ll just leave this here for Ion to probably never see: the problem with Covenants was the hard divide between roleplay of picking an allegiance and the power reward associated with it that removed any real choice for some classes. The modern implementation of Warbands could negate that negative effect entirely. If the power reward is shared across the warband then it just becomes another reason to level an alt and ally them with a different faction. The separate journey that each of my alts had through Shadowlands made it THE MOST satisfying alting expansion to date, it was just frustrating that once I got to the Maw and endgame that all their efforts overlapped, but didn’t share the rewards. To truly invigorate all the past expansions as a viable choice for Chromie-time leveling, they should be updated so their features take full advantage of Warbands.

I REALLY hope the housing shit is optional, that I will never have to step foot in there. That i wont get a quest to check it out, that it wont be tied to the story in the SLIGHTEST, That they won't sell stupid furniture packs in the trading post and by doing so selling LESS transmog/mounts. I hope it will not be a big focus. I hope it won't detract from other parts of the game like delves have, I hope you can NOT unlock crafting benches, AH, bank etc in your instance to force people to be in city hubs, I hope that furniture won't be added to loot tables to make the possibility of getting transmog/mount less of a chance and I hope it won't be required for warband/ account wide stuff, I hope it won't give any resources or advantages AT ALL, no quality of life/portals etc. Leave it as obscure and optional as PvP or world PVP. I am so excited for Undermined *and* housing later on down the line. I do have one small concern, though, with the way folks talk about housing as a gold sink/way to help balance the WoW economy, and it mostly boils down to - I'm perpetually broke in-game. Honestly, as a OG Warcraft fan, I loved Garrisons at first. My biggest issue was that they promised further customization and the ability to move zones but never did. Logistically, I think it needs to be semi instanced. Maybe it’s where you and members of your guild have a small neighborhood together, but no more than a few houses together. That’s one of the things that killed Ultima online.

If they go the direction of Wildstar with Player Housing it can be really good. If they go one step further and create another secondary profession in something like Wood Working that would be even better. Have us going to all this old content and getting drops we can decorate our houses with. Have us going back to all these old worlds cutting down various trees to get lumber. Doesn't need to be all trees, though my characters would thank you considering all the times I've gotten stuck in trees in Dragonflight. But really go all in on the profession.

I hope D.R.I.V.E gets the same treatment as skyriding. IF D.R.I.V.E will work well and will not be janky, and might be well received just as much as skyriding, I would love to use it for ground mounts such as Goblin Trikes or even my Choppers. Yes, I know, lots of people might go for the "Its not WoW anymore" quotes but for me, I would reaaaaaally love to just ride around a world where choppers and carts like these that were created by intelligent races such as Gnomes and Goblins, while listening to some FlatOut 2 songs while I accelerate and drift through Ashenvale or Grizzly Hills. I love dynamic means of travel, thats why I would love to see it expanded upon and also get the same 'Switch' ability for some mounts so that people can choose what style of ground travel they wanna use. If its well received just like skyriding and there is a 50 / 50 side on it, where both halves of the player base have the "Yes" and "No thanks" sides, then it might just work out just like Skyriding back in Dragonflight.

I think Warband and Garrison makes more sense then warband and player housing. It could be another layer and quality of life to professions, crafting on character/account level. You can integrate, replace Artisan Acuity with buildings, equipment, proffesions quests, missions, development , improve knowledge system, specialization, respecing and make something like delves/ class halls/arttfact weapons (more skins, visual customization) for crafters.

And let the guild work together to construct buildings like a blacksmith or leather worker and tie the top tier crafts behind those builds. I have finally met the day that Blizzard has let me down. with the recent expansion, I was one of the players affected by the personal guild bank wipe out. multiple tickets later, I am being told there is no fixing this. My start date was 01.12.2005, inside this guild bank is almost 20 years worth of collecting of items that cannot be obtained anymore. I am saddened and at a loss for words for this, and don't know where to turn.

One question I would have asked is if there are any plans on reworking the way how the story is told in terms of in game UI and mechanics. Current WoW basically uses the same old systems like it always did with partially voiced and quest text features but often times you miss story parts even if theyre narrated because the switch from questing fast to making a pause and listen is often not very clear if you know what I mean. I would wish for a more modern way of telling the main story lines like always having the narrated overlay you get for example when starting a world quest. These are easily skipable but you still know theyre there.

I actually like that Brann is sticking around for the entire xpac. I know he can be really annoying at times, but if the team get to expand his kit and AI behavior, I think he can end up being helpful, as opposed to them changing companions every season and all of them being terrible. Although, thinking about a bit more, they could introduce new companions each season but still let you choose which one to take into delves. This way you still have the ones you already leveled up but you can also level up a new one with a different kit, specs and mechanics. And at the end of the xpac you'd realize it was never about the delves, but instead, the friends you made along the way. 😂

D.R.I.V.E. sounds like roller beetle mounts from GW2. Hopefully they will adapt that idea better than they did with gryphon from gw2 and dragon flying. And "Dawnbreaker the greatest dungeon" Did you mean to say "the buggiest" ?

Guild housing ;) where players get bonuses for doing stuff in guild area and can have their personal housing in that guilded house/vilage (ex: bonus multicraft, rested xp2-5% etc that’s based on guild achievements?). guild housing where guilds can be flagged pvp and raid each other ;) ;) Make guilds great again ;) :p :D I hope they do make it so that professions can make the items for the housing: tailor: curtains; introduce woodworking profession? Or use archeology with a side tree for various artistic expressions.

Housing.. i want to be able to get mats... like in panderia... plant herbs/food... cloth/leather... maybe some way to build buildings that get you bonuses/patterns... like age of conan

They should boost the normal run speed without any mounts, panda remix was a breeze and when i got back to retail felt so slugish.

Give it a purpose. Make us want to be in our houses and not just a trophy room. Let npc's visit us and give us a ton of flavor and transmog quests. Make us interact with city vendors to get stuff for our homes and make the cities more immersive again. Ugh I want to walk, note I said walk, through SW and feel like I'm in a busy city from all districts.

Large raids can be counterproductive. Can feel like a barrier to entry. This feels like an epiphany, a dawning awareness on Ion's part, and I want to honor what must have been a difficult admission for him. But lets circle back for a minute. Three nights a week, four hours a night, is a "casual" schedule?

Please have player housing with a growing garrison…. I.e., a patch of land that grows with each expansion, keeping a patch of land for each expansion that is garrison like plus expanded player housing!

I cannot say this enough. WoW developers need to look at ffxiv and guild wars' player housing. If WoW makes housing below the bare minimum of either of those two others, wow's housing will flop.

I really like seeing people showing off their housing in ESO but ESO seemingly has more capability to do housing than WoW tech seems to have. I hope it's not just "Here's your house. It has X small, medium, and large display slots which are in static locations." Garrisons had similar 'trophy' slots which was boring at the end of things.

Garrisons were awesome and the only mistake made with it was too much gold from the table. Everything else people blame on Garrisons were the fault of Bliz cutting massive amounts of content from the expansion

I am a bit disappointed that they're moving away from larger raids. 8 boss raids somehow seem to lose a bit of personality in some way if that makes any sense?
