How's it goin', Chris. Honestly, I clicked to see the burnouts and stuck around for the mosquito and that sweet exhaust note.👍😉 Enjoy the weekend, mate.

Breaking performance is what concerns me the most with cup2 in the winter. I need to decide this week what to put, and I am leaning more and more towards the ps4s.

What’s the plans? Exhaust or keep it fairly original? Sounds fairly meaty already!
@ChrisDrift3 жыл бұрын
Originally I was all set on making my own exhaust for it but honestly the more I drive it the more I feel like the stock exhaust with the valves open is pretty much perfect. Maybe in a couple of months I'll get bored of it and do something though

I really want one of these, but your videos have been confirming my reservations regarding the lack of torque and playfulness to break loose. I'm now thinking maybe the 718 4.0 GTS might be a better bet as less of a grip machine and slightly more torque with the 4.0 engine. My original thought was to buy a base 2.7 981 and engine swap the 991.2 3.0 twin turbo engine into it... Torque-a-plenty!
@ChrisDrift3 жыл бұрын
I like your thinking with the turbo engine swap lol as for the 718 being less of a grip machine, I think its probably the opposite. Based on comparisons I've seen between the two, people seem to say the 981 GT4 has a bit more of a fun factor than the 718 GT4 (and presumably by extension, the GTS 4.0). I wouldn't blame you at all for getting one though, I seriously considered it before buying this. The other thing I was considering was an M2 as apparently they are very playful and happy to break loose, but I dunno something about the larger and heavier form factor compared to the cayman, plus my previous lack of enjoyment of BMW M cars, kind of put me off. Let me know what you end up going for and how you feel about it though

@@ChrisDriftI just finished watching your track day in the GT4 and you are completely putting me off the idea of getting one. I just don't think it's going to give me what I want, the lack of torque and long gearing being the biggest issues. I was shocked at the understeer and snappy rear end once it does break loose. I have a Nobel currently which is endowed with a front end that come rain or shine goes exactly where it's pointed and a rear end that will slide to kingdom come in the most progressive and enjoyable way imaginable. I'm now thinking Audi R8 V10 manual, with rear drive conversion and a twin turbo kit, then call it a day and get on with my life! If the governments 2030 banning of ICE vehicles actually comes to fruition the R8 in this guise could well be enough of a car to see me through to the end of my days...That noise!!! Interested to see how your ownership progresses with the GT4, hoping you can get it to perform in a way that will be to your liking. Enjoying the journey so far! :)

The 2.5L gts 718 will def have a lot more torque and a much wider power band so it’ll slide way easier

Ohms, across the pond, there’s a builder who converts the GT4 to a 4.5 liter monster tuned for 98 octane gas, with 553 horsepower. Plenty of torque all across the rev range. I’ve got one and love it.

You seem underwhelmed with the car 😂 It's meant to be a smile machine! I have a 981 with gts spec and I love it, the only real complaint would be that you need to drive it really quite fast to get proper enjoyment from it

Have you seen my videos of the supra? This is the most positive I've been about a car for years haha I think I've washed this more times in 2 weeks than I washed my last few cars in the entire time owning them lol

You can certainly do a massive burnout on the GT4 but you need more space and 10psi more than you had and a lesser grip tire bro
@dosovnis7090 Жыл бұрын
You need an M2C to be drifting around 👍
@mattyp3119 Жыл бұрын
This isn't a drift car 😂. But on cup2s you can still get the car to rotate pretty sideways for almost as long as you want I think you may be treating the driving dynamics of the mid engine super high grip as if it had a front engine and very little grip. Youd need to do some alignment, sway bar changes to tight up front and loose behind etc... Then you'd have a drift machine
