PH was one of the most promising investment destinations in the '50s and 60s & second only to Japan's per capita income ($1100) with ours at $1030. Many of our neighbors like Korea looked at PH as an impossible dream, bec. we were far richer than most of Asia. Investments grew despite the fact that PH was an archipelago frequently visited by typhoons, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes & calamities. Ergo, it's the communist & MNLF/MILF insurgencies, corruption, oligarchism, poor savings mentality, cronyism, and political and economic mismanagement of the 70s, 80s, and until the 90s and poor capital formation below 20%, way lower than our neighbors of 20-30%, that led to our poor economic growth. It was only with the growth of OFW remittances and the BPO & services sector, (thanks to US occupation) that fueled domestic consumption & coupled with more reforms & infra projects implemented by PNoy and PRRD that PH grew exponentially. We hope PBBM can continue more reforms and grow our FDI and improve our weak export & agri sectors too, to further push our growth. Filipinos should mature as a nation and stop fighting over political colors which is causing us to be divided. Though I'm not a fan of BBM, I believe this is the essence of BBM's unity plea, and we should heed it while staying vigilant of any gov't. irregularities in the future.

Ah yes, BP thank you for highlighting this and maybe noticing my comment, I appreciated this for highlighting what he did well for the country. you also shared key highlights about the global problems of certain presidencies during their term which is quite remarkable as well. the biggest takeaway here is shedding light on what made certain departments or local LGUs became rampant if not totally corrupt (neglecting their work properly) which led to my assumption of weak Executive powers. i also blamed the Departments of the Government for being corrupt which could be true or not. however, thanks to your input highlighting what Diokno published about Aquino which points out why the LGUs has been so corrupt and if not pathetic or a failure until now which has can be reflected since duterte and today's term. however, despite those slumps of LGU, i'm already seeing new progress and improvements of service at todays tenure. slow but atleast it is already changing. compared i how i see it during and after the tenure of Aquino. (public service and et al.)

Exactly. Aquino did not do better than Arroyo or Duterte. He simply benefited from an excellent global economic climate with no major global catastrophe. If anything I'm more impressed by GMA's economic measures on how she kept the gdp growth positive despite taking over a crumbling economy and facing a global financial crisis. One can even argue that Pnoy's term was lackluster given the global economic climate during his term.

He may have risen our economy but don't deny the fact just like his mother, he's insentive to the people that died during his term especially Manila Hostage, Dengvaxia, Yolanda and SAF44. As well as the crime rate is absouletly high during his term which is why Duterte started the Drug War to lower the crime rate and it did, it may not be perfect because crimes outside of Davao City is a bigger challenge.

5:06 I don't think K to 12 help the student to be prepared because of how unplan for most of the schools to the implementation the system, the promised that some subject will be removed on college didn't happen which we study all over again. In addition of pandemic which forces others to stop on their education. Now students are expected to graduate at the age of 24-26 for professional which we consider a heavy burden to our parents. Corazon Aquino’s son just sat and did nothing and saw the fruits of Gloria’s hard work for the country! 🤦🏽‍♂️ kaya pobre ka pa rin. What use was the "Golden Economy" when the Aquino Administration was popular for its underspending and over-reliance on private sector. - Cancelled Arroyo's projects such as Laguna dredging, Bicol Express and National broadband (same years where Manila flooding and slow internet was rampant) - Made his own projects that he would eventually scrap like Bicol Airport and MRT-5 - Delayed the North Triangle station by giving the same contract to another company leading to a legal battle (current station is now in an inconvenient space inbetween locations) - Sold FTI land to the same company he gave the metro station contract to (not even a lease, literally just gave away prime Metro Manila land because they're buddies. Land is currently still undeveloped) - Replaced MRT3's Original Japanese maintenance with Local company posing as Koreans. Worst part was it was owned by the Transport secretary's cousin Not to mention the other political shady stuff like impeaching the Supreme Court official investigating your Hacienda and allowing your secretaries to badmouth Local officials and refuse to give aid because their your Family rivals.

The Belgian Government even sponsored it as an ODA but arrogant Aquino still refused. 2. Bicol Express was already done. Arroyo rehabilitated the entire line but Aquino did nothing to maintain said line and lost it just after two years. I mean, this is the same guy that I just said kicked out quality Japanese maintenance for an unknown local company that started "MRTirik" 3. National Broadband was already cancelled by Arroyo but Aquino strictly promised a replacement even calling it a better alternative. None have materialized whatsoever.

Also, have you forgotten about the Laguna dredging, failure to maintain MRT which led to record breaking loss of service in the line? His government is also known for underspending. His term also occurred where there were no global issues like the war on Ukraine, covid etc. that affects markets. Good econ environment but unfortunately a weak leader. If I remember correctly, Arroyo raised the bar for Investments, Duterte raised the bar for Infrastructure and Marcos is currently raising the bar for Digital Connectivity. Did you know that the administration that succeeded her borrowed twice as much as PGMA, yet, no major constructions etc? PGMA only borrowed 3 Trillion in a span of 9 years while the other admin borrowed 6 Trillion in a span of 6 years? PRDD only borrowed 4T. Did you know this?

Sure Aquino did a lot of good for the economy BUT the Dengvaxia vaccine anomaly, SAF 44, and his handling of Yolanda funds forever tarnished his reputation, leading to his heir apparent, Mar Roxas, losing his presidential bid to PRRD. The Skyway project hardly made any stride during his term. He must have been well-intentioned but he was a weak leader compared to GMA and PRRD.

Not to mention the victims from yolanda typhoon. If the nation was great by his time the victims there wouldn't be forced to do sex-for-food. Billions of donations from other countries but those victims didnt recieved a single cent. By that big amount of money, they can easily rebuilt tacloban and their homes, but there is no help from them. Pnoy failed during his term and the next presidents had to clean up his mess. Well, the only thing they did during his term is that they put their faces on 500 peso bill. LOL
