Fresh greens spoil/wilt extremely quickly so you make the salad as close to meal time as possible and you try not to have any leftover. My mom always does the slipper thing! I have my own pair that I use when I go to her house, and she has a pair that she brought to mine that she uses, haha. Then she also has a pair of guest slippers that I see by the door. I never thought twice about it really, but thinking about it now, none of my other friends really wear slippers when I go visit their home. FYI, I live in Canada, where people usually take their shoes off when entering a home. I know in some cultures people wear their outside shoes indoors, but that's for the most part a big no-no here. Unless it's hardwood, and you're either going in a out (ie. taking in groceries), or going through the house to get to the backyard.
