Powerful info.. Can the working of a braking system such as a brake booster and vacuum check valve for a brake booster have an effect on brake dragging and seized calipers ?
@eltunene Жыл бұрын
Dear Xolanisandile, one common problem is as follows: whenever there is a major stress on the front suspension, such as a major repair, or a minor accident, sometimes a metal brake line feeding the front calipers is bemt pr crunched, thus creating a constriction. This allows the brakes to be applied, but the relatively weak springs which release the calipers are not strong enough to return the fluid back to the pump instantly, but the calipers stay put, and the fluid slowly goes back to the pump. This is very frequent in a minor accident when work must be done to the front end. Please check to see if this metal piece of pipe has been accidentally crushed. From what you say, the booster seems to be working normally. Regards!

Always was a mystery to me how power brakes work with just one vacuum line, it took me till almost 50 years old to actually just look it up on youtube, the answer is usually almost always way simpler than you could imagine.

I do have a question though, why is it if you push on a brake pedal very hard while in neutral you can hear a hissing but like it's sucking in or leaking air
@eltunene2 жыл бұрын
It seems a leak in the booster gaskets or valves. It not only produces a noise, but makes the gas and air mixture much poorer, which impairs the engine operation as well. Even if the booster was recently checked, air pollution can find its way into the booster and cause this failure to properly seat the valve gaskets. Hope this helps!!

While driving with slow speed power brake goes hard...Is it normal ?
@eltunene5 жыл бұрын
Hey, that can be a difficult to find problem. There is a big argument with GM for their brakes malfunctioning when at low rpm. Even some vehicles failing to stop at the parking lot or in a long line of cars in a highway. Apparently, GM made an upgrade by doing away with the engine vacuum system and installing a separate vacuum pump for operating the booster. This pump is lubricated by engine oil and sometimes the oil leaks into the booster and creates leaks in the gaskets, thus creating this dangerous situation. I found a GM Truck Club at www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/threads/2015-silverado-brake-failure-at-low-speed.1406377/ and people having bad accidents and filing lawsuits against GM for that. The thing is that none of them (not that I know) have been able to find a remedy. Please check their posts.

@@eltunene is it happen with every car? As my car is new just completed 7 days.. Worried is it defective or normal

@@7sandip Well, the data I just send you is about pickups, I don't know about cars. But your car should be covered by some type of warranty, and if you go and try to fix it, maybe they can use that as a pretext to make warranty void. I have never owned a Chevy, I am a fan of asians. However, I'll keep looking.

I'm trying to troubleshoot why the brakes on my car are slow to return, I think it might have to do with the vaccum or the diaphragm.

Dear friend, another possibility is a partially crushed brake line from a previous repair of brakes or suspension system. If so, when you press the brake pedal the booster forces the pads against the disc, but as you release it, the brake pads springs are not strong enough to force the fluid back fast enough.
