@@Vergilswordboi lmao and what does that actually mean? Spider-Man Peter Parker wasn't supposed to die, Miles was never supposed to become Spider-Man- that feels WAAAY more dimension/cannon event breaking than saving one guy. so...shouldn't Mile's universe be unraveling? I mean dimension 42 doesn't even have a Spider-Man, and that's DIRECTLY a cannon event. So- that universe should definitely be gone. it's been like 16 months!! so...Miguel's theory is bullshit, simple as that. he used a single data point and misattributed the cause. he's blinded by grief and probably envy. he's projecting the fact that he's not like the other Spider-Men, Women, Dinos, etc onto Miles.

Heck, it took the animators two, maybe even three years, just to animate Hobie with his inconsistent style. Different colors, shapes, and framerates (as you said). It's kinda like how, in the first film, Miles was intentionally animated to move at a slower framerate than everyone else until his "Leap of Faith", in which said framerate became the same as everyone else afterwards.

Hobie had it planned from the very start. He knew Miles was in for trouble, and dropped subtle hints for him to pick up on. How would he even know that, though? Miles is the only Spiderman with electrical powers! Is he really that smart? Edit: Since a lot of people are answering this question, I'll clarify why this confuses me. The more energy you pack into a small area, the more concentrated its effect should be. That's similar to why a knife is more dangerous than a fist - it's less spread-out, so all that power behind a narrow blade has a greater piercing effect. Likewise, if Miles were concentrating all his electricity into his fingers, you'd think it would have a stronger piercing effect. Using his full palm could have just spread it out and diluted it. However, I wouldn't know if Miles can concentrate it like that, and there was no telling exactly how the force field works either. Does concentrating the energy work better against it, or do you just overload it any old way? I don't know how Hobie would know this either, since Miles is treated like the only Miles, despite the PS4 and PS5 games existing here. We never saw any other Mileses chasing him, which means Mileses probably aren't in on the spider society, so the spider society would have had less time to study them. The best way to figure out how the powers of a Miles work is to carefully watch them for a lot of time, and I doubt even the people who played the PS4 game would know whether fingers or palms make a huge difference. Besides, other Spider-Men can't turn invisible, so you can't monitor a Miles as easily without him knowing (and he'll sense you, since Spider-Men can sense each other). It seems only Hobie was aware that he could overload the shield, because Miles was surrounded by all sorts of Spider-Men when he was trapped by Miguel, and it occurred to no one. Speaking of Miguel, if anyone knew Miles could break out, it should have been him, since he's from a more scientifically advanced time and is quite smart like most Spider-Men are. We probably can't even thank Hobie's Electro for teaching him about this, because there are all sorts of versions of Electro, and this didn't occur to anyone else. Besides, Electro's powers clearly don't work quite the same way as Miles'. Even Static and Black Lightning's powers don't work the same way (as Static once corrected Black Lightning). Yeah, that's DC, but you get the picture.

Either way, he clearly knew who Miles was in the first place, as he subtly warned Miles not to go to HQ (seriously, this character has so many layers! I'm starting to see him as a hidden gem!) The other spidermen also knew about Miles, since they had an intervention planned, and would have been briefed on his powers.

You gotta remember that practically every single spider person is incredibly intelligent. Obviously, some more than others or in different ways than others. I think almost all of Hobie's spidey-like jokes he throws around are actually double-meaning sentences, specially about the main antagonist. "I dont believe in consistency" can also foreshadow the fact he is against purposefully maintaining canon events Miguel also basically brainwashed every spiderman into becoming a symbol of its own universe, a hero having a "green pass" to handle their losses bc it was suposed to happen, hence "I'm not a hero because calling yourself that turns you into a self-mythologizing narcissistic autocrat", essentially Miguel protecting the multiverse web.

Hobie can also be seen trying to discourage Miles from actually accompanying the spiders from the society to their headquarters before giving up (Miles disregarded it immediately) and coming along, making sure to stay near the entire time and getting upset with Gwen when he realizes she didn’t tell Miles the most important part. This is hidden among louder moments and action and are very short so it’s difficult to see unless you give it a second look. Honestly? One of the best for sure.

It wasn’t a guess. Spider Punk can emit electromagnetic/sonic waves with his guitar. You see him do it to open the barrier to get to Spot. He sees Miles trying to absorb the barrier and that’s why he tells Miles to use his palms and not the tip of his fingers. He has a good grasp on how electricity works with Spider powers. He even shows Miles this 🙌 while Miles is trapped by Miguel and that’s how Miles escapes. It’s a vague understanding that Hobie can use electricity, but he does it with his guitar all of the time. Whether it comes from him, his suit, or his guitar is never truly explained. But he definitely knows a bit about it.

What’s interesting about Hobie that the writers might use to connect him more to Miles narratively, is the fact that he was the original prowler in the first Spider-Man Comics. I don’t know how they could incorporate that at the moment, but it’s an interesting detail since Miles’ story involves the Prowler so heavily.
