How powerful is the Honda XR125l? Spoiler alert!!!It accelerates more like a 250!

I got the same byke, actually it was my dad's byke; but when I got the license he gave it to me as a present, and it's true it's not the fastest byke in the world. It can't go faster than 100/110 km/h, but it's really fun to ride in it. My next goal will be having the full byke licence and buying a new Honda Africa Twin. Love it !!

It’s an awesome bike, but it’s really corked. If you replace the stock carburetor or just up size the jetting, and grind down the internal welds on the header, the bike will have a lot more power.

And at the exhaust side of the cylinder there is a bottleneck at the german/EU Version its a 12mm washer that reduces the volume of exhaust fumes. A other downside is the minor aurflow of the cdi so it can overheat you can work around this problem with the tank of the 250ccm bike or replace the cdi directly into the airflow.

Well I have just bought one for my son. I obviously rode it first on the test drive. To be honest I felt I was 16 again riding my 50! It's slow and underpowered. My 200R is a better ride.

Am I correct in thinking you can't overtake vehicles when there is 2 solid lines in the road at 1:14 on right hand side of road.

Whats the max average your getting? just got one and seems to be 104 max stock for me

Mine can do max 117 and then hits the rev limiter

It's a small bike so your weight can actually make a difference and so can the height above sea level make a difference in your performance

I have been so disappointed after driving 250s from other manufacturers. No noticeable difference in power to my XR125. Honda 250s are another story though. Just my opinion.

man, of course 2 strokes are superior! Go for the DT 125. It's much more powerful than the 125 4 strokes. There's no way a stock XR 125, 150 or 200 can catch up with a 2 stroke 125 DT. 😂 I have a DT 125 2000 model. It's still running and in good condition. It's a powerful bike, and I love the sound of it especially the sound of the new pipe i put on. It's brappin'

2 strokes are better but not in all circumstances. If you live in the mountains and have to climb any serious hills 2 strokes start to lose power as the mixture of air changed because of difference in altitude. Also starting 2 strokes in the winter can be very smokey so not very good if you have neighbours.
