Those red lines or veins are stretch marks that appear when you body grows a large amout in a short time.. it's common to people going through puberty and having growths in that area.. it's also common to men who exercise and their muscle's grow a large amount.. it's normal don't worry
@kangaroo4325 жыл бұрын
And they fade!
@Johnny-ci8mw5 жыл бұрын
They are actually just veins. When women are pregnant there is an increase of blood volume making veins in certain areas of the body more visible, and they stay that way longer if she breastfeeds. They do go away over time. Yes, she probably does have stretch marks on her skin that grew quickly, but what she was explaining is just veins caused by increased blood volume and suction.

Hi everyone, I'm a girl, and in school we have the pregnancy/baby unit in health, we were not told anything about what happens to your body after pregnancy I think that is one of the many flaws about our school system, this video has been very helpful to inform me and hopefully other people about what happens after pregnancy . I find it sad that women have not felt comfortable to talk openly about this or have not been heard when speaking up about this, I admire Colleen for feeling okay to talk about this. I am really happy to know that postpartum pregnancy is becoming more acceptable to talk about.

Well, I think the expectation and hope is that from the unit, they won't be having lots of teen mums, therefore explaining post-partum would be a bit unnecessary with that expectation, it could generally wait until post-partum or once you are pregnant, and that's something you would/could talk to a specialist/doctor/obstetrician about in due time

Congratulations on your newborn, you look fantastic. As a family doctor I see a lot of post-partum mummies and I can vouch that 80-90% of women have not gone back to their pre pregnancy body by week 6. It’s entirely normal to have some skin stretching following pregnancy and this should hopefully settle over the next few months. My most important advice is to continue gentle exercises whilst maintaining your mental health as being a new mum is a strain both physically and mentally. Wishing you all the very best.
@amaliemelis88265 жыл бұрын
THIS COMMENT! Yes! 6 weeks is nothing, half a year is nothing, even. Give it time, exercise, love and you will se. The red lines are stretch marks!! I’ve never had a baby but I definitely had substantial boob growth when I was around 14 and I was covered in those red lines. They’re stretch marks. They’ll fade eventually Update: OK they don't always fade for EVERYONE. They usually do and it's okay if they haven't! But lotion and such helps. And there's no problem with having stretch marks either! WE ALL GET THEM! It's proof our bodies are amazing.

Livi Holland I agree with the first comment- it takes at least 6 months for your body to bounce back- also that you are nursing helps as it takes the fat from everywhere to create enough for Flynn to get all that he needs. We are most critical of ourselves after the birth of our boys- it stretches the tummy that much more in the front. Get out for lots of walks with Flynn ( and the dogs.) it will go. And get back to healthy eating. (And still allow for an occasional beer( helps milk production)

To all the 13 and 14-year-old kids watching this video and asking if they "weigh too much" or "if its bad that I am x pounds" please, please remember that you are a young teen! Your body is still growing, and going through puberty and that is okay! Colleen is in her 30's and fully grown, so of course, her body is going to look different! That is not a bad thing. Your body is going to look different at 16 then it does now, and your body at 21 will look different than at 16! That is normal! Please do not let this video fool you into thinking that gaining or losing weight is a bad thing. It is so normal. Take care of yourselves, treat yourself with kindness and compassion, that is more important than how much you weigh.

Even the stretch marks went away after some time. 2 months after baby your body looks like an explosion. It won't stay that way. Also, dont be surprised if you gain wait after you stop breastfeeding. You are figuring out your calorie intake versus the calories you are burning through breastfeeding. I gained 40 pounds once I stopped BF and then I started to count calories and I lost the weight. It takes time and effort but you will get there. I think your body is beautiful but I dont want anyone to think how your body looks 2 months after baby is a permanent thing.

@@cheesefriesyo it all really depends on the person yours might stay and hers might heal or whatever maybe Colleen's won't and maybe they will but her body likely isn't all done healing yet and that is what the commenter is saying

Therapy can help you to be more comfortable with yourself. You can also write down some positive sentences, hang them where you brush your teeth (or somewhere you look every day) and read them until you start to BELIEVE them and FEEL them. ❤

The red lines are probably stretch marks. I've never had a baby, I'm 17 and I have a ton of those on my boobs and my hips and thighs. I got them super fast when i hit puberty, I've always kind of hated them but this video makes me feel better. Also you look so good colleen, just want you to know we all love you and support you and you're body confidence is really helpful.

EVERYTHING is normal. I just had baby #4 at 39. Remember, it took NINE months to grow. Be patient. I always saw a huge difference in ten months. Also, your body will hold onto extra fat while you are nursing because you need it to make milk. My breasts are also very vascular when I'm nursing because they need extra blood flow. You are going to bounce right back. Please don't worry about it. Your body made a human! And you think it can't recover? Don't be silly. Give your hips time to move back. Get examined for diastasis recti. Exercise properly based on results. Up your vitamin C to boost collagen production. ❤️

@@tiffanyelainestubbsfarrull2204 I initially lose weight quickly, but those last 15 stay put. That amount varies for different mom's, but a certain body fat percentage is necessary for adequate milk production. Within two to three months of weaning my babies those last 15 pounds would melt off often with additional weight. It was the best diet EVER!! 😆
