Hi all, I have a question, can I do this on a stock that I do not want to own? For example KO is $52, I sell a put option at strike price $40 so that it will never hit? And I can still earn the premium? Or Is there a limit to the strike price that I can put that will restrict from doing so? Not sure if it was mentioned in the video or I have missed

My number one strategy to sell cash secured puts and covered calls on high quality companies. 2% a month on average from premium alone. Now add dividend and capital gains with that. And the fun part is that Cash secured puts and covered calls works as well in a flat market.

Does the premium for puts go down with decrease in IV? I have been doing this for 1 month now and my account is growing slowly. When I am assigned, I sell covered calls.

Naked put selling in margin can be dangerous while market is pulling back. If you assigned need to use your leverage to cover …..Margin call can destroy your account easily. Only sell it when you have real cash to cover. Also, call spreads and put spreads can be assigned to you before it expired…. Make sure don’t sell something you can’t cover and let your broker to fix your account when your margin call is due.

The disadvantage of shorting put is that , if the stock price drops to the put strike price before the expiration, you have to buy back the put and buy the stock, which might be more expensive than just buying the stock without shorting put in advance.

It’s “either” “or” and not both. Either you buy back the put or you get the shares assigned.

The problem with selling puts is that the profits are too low, only 2% per month if u buy puts and the price goes in ur favor, u can easily make 20-300% in a matter of days / month
