I was heavily depressed at the age of 20 without really knowing about it. I only realized this after my first MDMA experience. I woke up the next day and literally saw the world with other eyes, felt like another human, felt like I was healed of something I didn't know I had. Huge.

Thanks for sharing your experience Jeff, I think it's important that more people share their experiences with psychedelics, especially when they are using them for therapeutic purposes. The more we talk about, the more normal it becomes and we can help inform people who would not be informed about them otherwise.

JEFF! It makes my heart smile to see others have been going through the same journey as myself. I suffered from alcoholism for about the same amount of time you were hitting energy drinks and soft drinks hard. I quit at the beginning of this years. The first few weeks happened through sheer will power and then withdrawal symptoms subside for a bit. THEN came the post acute withdrawal symptoms and anhedonia and panic attacks. They don't tell you about that usually when you try to quit. Needless to say, I was white-knuckling it at that point. I found psychedelics in a search to replace my addiction w/ something more beneficial (mushrooms) not realizing that it had the potential to eradicate addiction all together amongst fixing all the things you mentioned in your vid. I actually had a scary, bad trip that finally broke my destructive cycle and ultimately led to a good outcome. I later learned that those are potentially the most beneficial if you can integrate the experience properly. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. I'm now going on my 5th month alcohol free and haven't had any desire for alcohol where most would still be battling and counting the days since their last drink w/o psychedelics. It's weird to think about because in retrospect it almost seems like I "accidentally" broke the chains of my addiction in my search to find something to replace the alcohol craving not knowing how powerful this medicine is.

Good for you, Jeff! Seriously, I'm very happy for you. But the thought of giving up other pleasurable things (for me at least) in life such as a few drinks with friends/family, a nice barbecue or dessert, and miss out on those things and become strict makes me not want to do it. Other than that, I'd definitely do it. All the best to you in life! You deserve it and thanks for your testimony! 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience. I suffer from episodic cluster headaches. About two months ago, another cycle started. It had been 2 and a half years since my last. This is my 4th cycle, and they’ve been separated by the exact amount of years. A couple months ago, after I experienced the first one, I told myself that I would not endure this pain for another eight weeks. I picked a spot, in my head, and made sure I left everything in order. I was going to take my own life. There was no way around this. Cluster headaches are the worst pain known to medicine. There was no way I was going to go through about 5 per day… lasting an average of 90 minutes. That may not sound like it’s very bad, but I promise you, it is torture on a level that seems demonic. Like you said, I thought to myself… let me try mushrooms, because I have nothing to lose at this point. I took a strong dose at first, and micro dosed every other day for six weeks. The severity of my cluster headaches dropped from a 10 to about a 2. I was only getting it once per day. I am here writing this comment. Without exaggerating, I had planned this beautiful pasture, I know, to put a bullet into the left side of my head… the source of the excruciating pain. Psilocybin drastically reduced the effects of this cycle and, without a doubt, I would recommend it for anyone suffering from anything.

I would very seriously look into psychedelic therapy if I were you if you haven't already. I suffered from the same vice as yourself and this helped me tremendously. Before doing psychedelics I was white-knuckling my way through the days, experienced a ton of anhedonia came close to have panic attacks out of nowhere from withdrawals. There is a compelling body of evidence that shows that psychedelics (specifically psilocybin) can help eradicate addiction, anxiety and depression along the way with the right guidance and it helps w/ neuroplasticity as well.

They're powerful tool and need to be approached in the right way w/ respect towards them. Set & setting are SUPER important if/when you decide to use them again. Believe if or not, bad trips actually have the most benefits of you can effectively integrate the experience into your life. Most of that comes w/ a lot of introspection and solitude while you process the experience. I've personally had a bad experience as well but got the most benefit from it too. It's all worth it in the end. I would suggest finding a clinical setting to help alleviate and minimize any factors that could lead to a bad experience if possible if you feel it's necessary. Everybody is different.
