Hi, I’m starting college next year as a kinesiology/pre-med studies major. Are there any books you could recommend for an intro for kinesiology? I am planning on going to PT school after college!

Hey! I am a first-year in my undergrad and I am currently planning my pathway to become a PT in Canada. I wanted to ask: Would you recommend asking the same PT/professor to fill out multiple letters of recommendation (as you will have to do it for multiple schools)? Or can you use the same letters for every school you apply to? I'm pretty unfamiliar with this area of the application process so anything helps. Thanks!

You apply to PT schools through ptcas where you will request your references to submit their letters on there. Ptcas is a pt application service that compiles all of the necessary documents for your pt programs. Then after you finish all the requirements for your ptcas application, ptcas will send your application to all the schools you are applying. So, same letters for all of your schools, but make sure you check on each school what type of recommendation letters they accept.

I'm confused. If I don't know any PT's personally or well enough to ask for a letter of recommendation, how would I be able to fulfill an application's LOR requirements?

most programs also require work/ volunteer/ shadowing/ observation hours with a licensed PT. Assuming you do the required hours and you show genuine interest in PT, you should be able to ask one of those PT's you get hours with for a LOR

Thank you for the information! I am wondering if I can send out the link to my selected references even if I am not complete with the application? In other words, can I get that part out of the way as I work on other areas in the application?
