What was wild was putler claiming Ukraine was a threat to Russia. It wasn’t before 2014, but it sure is now. As always, though, the main threat to the glorious federation is from within. Which successor country will you end up in?

Ukraine receiving Western arms is not the equivalent of Russia receiving Korean troops, equipment, and arms. Russia has 4 times the population of Ukraine. They are not on equal footing. North Korean troops are there because conscription tells the Russian public "We are losing."

There is no problem here for China, regardless if Russia "wins" or "loses" in Ukraine. The fact that Russia has lost power, prestige, and a lot of *productive aged men* - this only benefits China in the long term (especially considering that so few Russian men even reach Putin's above "retirement age"). China needs land - and with "climate change" Siberia with its' vast resources will become more viable for human habitation and exploitation... A weaker Russia benefits China on the world stage, at home with the potential of more territory, and economically as former Russian military and economic "client states" turn to China for "help" (because China still manufactures compatible caliber military arms, compatible systems, and other... equipment, for export). The loses of economic power and equipment could also turn Russia itself into a quasi "client" of China as well, in the not too distant future. Putin is playing a dangerous game, and not only in Ukraine - China has needs their land can fill, and China has been a... competitor many times in recent decades (and a near "adversary" in some ways, especially after Mao "split" away from the Communist Soviet Union).

I stopped watching at the apparently throw away comment 'North Korea almost makes Putin's regime humane'. Are we really at the stage of having to decide which regime is more evil? Maybe he missppoke here but I doubt that Ukrainians, Finns, Afghanis, Georgians and others will feel the same way. This comment may, however, reveal a deeper problem with the understanding of Russian mentality amongst many in the West.
