In my opinion he should be US president and it is a shame that he isn´t but instead there is such an unqualified mafia guy. I am German, from Bavaria, and I did love USA all my life - until people like Bush junior and Trump came (with Trump even worse than Bush). Today the USA are a problematic country: no good political system, no good legal system, no good health system, no good education system - ALL is only related to money, and not to talent and qualificaton. THIS IS HORRIBLE, people, totally wrong way !

@@OzzyBlokeWrong - Hodges gives invaluable insight and advice, with the unequivocal clarity you’d expect from such an experienced General. If it’d been down to Hodges, international law would have been enforced long ago and Russia would have been defeated and back behind its 1991 borders. What a shame that the Biden government and much of Europe allowed themselves to be bullied by Putin’s empty nuclear rhetoric - I guess it’s easy to be wise in retrospect. But now we see Putin’s nuclear threats for the empty sabre-rattling it is, and we now understand why, let’s get on with enforcing international law.

13:14 Exactly. Zelenskyy a couple of month ago made it clear, that Ukraine has a million men registrered, ready to be called in for service as needed. They don't need the 18 - 25 year olds too, they don't need more manpower for joining the military. They needed trained and equipped combat units ready for frontline service. They lack not the men, but the training capacity and the equipment - equipment - equipment.
@linda1lee2

@@larsrons7937 Several soldiers came back from training in France yet soon deserted! Kiev needs to oust and punish bad military leaders; some whose troops have accused of being murderous because of bad tactics. All militaries need troops for rear areas and less dangerous areas. These new younger soldiers should go there so existing soldiers can go to the front. You need more troops to rotate because troops in combat must rotate for rest and refit. Not doing that encourages them to desert.

I fully agree with General Hodges' perspective and admire his consistent message as an ambassador for Ukraine and humanity. His stance has been clear for years: Ukraine must win, and achieving that outcome only requires the West to commit resolutely to this mission. However, there’s an underlying interpretation that, while unspoken by General Hodges, I am confident he would agree with: Ukraine will never lose to Russia. The only questions are how long the suffering and horror persist, and how many lives are destroyed or damaged in the process. Even if Putin’s initial invasion plans had been "perfect," his strategic objective-to re-subjugate Ukraine-is fundamentally impossible. This is because tens of millions of Ukrainians have spent decades resisting Russian meddling, devoting their lives to building an independent Ukraine. When combined with the extraordinary innovation and adaptability demonstrated by the Ukrainian state and military-industrial complex since November 2022, it becomes clear that Putin lacks the capacity to achieve his goal. He may not even be able to retain the territories he has conquered-even without much additional Western aid. My hunch is that no one in Trump's inner circle understood this reality before late November 2024. For far too many ill-informed members of the "MAGA Movement," the war in Ukraine was framed as a Biden project-something to be politically leveraged against Biden. Since Biden supported Ukraine and allocated significant resources to aid the country, the "natural" but misguided reaction for some MAGA followers was to oppose support for Ukraine and turn it into a minor campaign point. However, as more informed voices have had the opportunity to share insights with Trump, it seems the narrative is shifting. What will Trump do? No one can say but him. That said, there are fewer indications of Trump abandoning Ukraine and more signals suggesting he may do at least as much as the Biden administration has done. If so, that would be significant. When the histories of this war are written, there will be no heroic Western leaders. From Obama’s timid "no lethal aid" policy to avoid escalation, to more recent half-measures, Western leaders have largely been dismissive, timid, and motivated by self-interest and greed. The true heroes are the Ukrainians and, to some extent, other Eastern European post-Soviet countries that have stood with them. Paradoxically, Trump now finds himself in a position where he has an opportunity to emerge as a hero. All he needs to do is echo General Hodges’ words clearly and unequivocally: "Ukraine must win. Russia must withdraw." If Trump couples this declaration with a well-conceived strategy to deliver the necessary assistance for Ukraine to achieve victory, he could set a historic precedent. While I do not doubt Trump’s capacity to recognize and seize such an opportunity, I also share General Hodges' skepticism. Nevertheless, I hope we are both wrong.

How come Ukraine hasn't put in place a more efficient military training infrastructure that does not use corrupt Russian tactics of the military only using soldiers as meat grinders. As usual, excellent analysis by Gen. Hodges. Unfortunately, Trump did not, could not, since Gen. Hodges is democratic more than so, but Gen. Hodges should be Secretary of Defense if Trump is willing to cross party line in the National Interest of US!

When dealing with Putler, everything is transactional. Only meet if there's a ceasefire. Do not trade sanction relief unless the RuZZians go back to the 1991 borders. Bottom line, no discussions without Ukraine at the table.
