How rainbows form and what shape they really are | Colourful Weather | ABC Australia

If you thought rainbows were shaped like an arch, think again. All you need is water, the sky and sunlight, and you’ve got something that’s colourful - with a pot of gold at each end.
What is it? A rainbow! And there are no pots of gold. There couldn’t be because rainbows don’t actually… that would be giving it away. You’ll have to watch the video to find out!
You’ll also find out what happens to sunlight inside a raindrop, why rainbow colours are always in the same order and what the real shape of a rainbow is. Tip - it’s not an arch!
Colourful Weather brings you the fun and fascinating science behind five very colourful events we can see in the sky. Hosted by Nate Byrne, from ABC NEWS Breakfast, and meteorologists from the Bureau of Meteorology, this is weather presented for kids in a way they can understand and get excited about.

I love 🌈, I can even say their seven colors in Spanish, rojo, Spanish for red, naranja, Spanish for orange, amarillo, Spanish for yellow, verde, Spanish for green, azul, Spanish for blue, índigo/índiga, Spanish for indigo, and violeta, Spanish for violet!

"Science" always pontificate about how a water droplet (or a prism) reflects the 7 colours of the rainbow. But it cannot convincingly explain how the colours is displayed as a semi-circle or even a circle. It is TOO PROUD TO ADMIT THAT "SCIENCE" DOES NOT KNOW.
