Rammus top is really underrated because if your lane opponent backs for half a second you gank for your mid lane, your bot lane, your jungler and somehow returned to lane in 5 seconds.

Trueeeee, his Q movement speed is extremely underrated. He's one of the fastest champions in the game with RG + Q alone, roughly pairing up with Hecarim and Quinn. Probably he's faster than Quinn.

LVL 7 rammus top speaking here: I usually max Q first for the waveclear and because people dont expect the cooldown to be so low. That way you can fight them, knock them up, and even chase them down when they run instead of just farming. Ofc, it's up to personal preference, but 3 or 4 points into Q isn't half as bad hahah

As you mentioned the auto attack dmg. I like to put in a wits end into the item build when playing Rammus. You get MS. You get attack speed which is good since his passive scales with his armor, you also increase the on-hit dmg even more and you can heal yourself once you are below 50% HP. Tbh i just play Rammus in the Jungle but it works quite well as 3rd item :)

if yi gets to snowball on you and has wits before youve got thornmail or even after youre fu. like really really fu. hell kill you extremely fast and the heal is damn busted even with gw. when he gets dd after theres literally nothing youre doing to this guy. hes going merc dd wits wich will give him way too much armor AND magic resist while hitting like a truck himself and basically healing 0-100 in a few aa. rammus is all about getting that lead to complete thornmail before the enemy has a chance to work their way arround your armor or have mr to counter the reflection. what i usually do aggainst rammus jungle is countergank so he becomes useless. id treat a top jayce vs rammus the same way. gank the sh out of this dude like if hes nasus(like idc about nasus but hes a problem for other champs). jayce got lots of damage ive got true damage. ez kill. once you shut the rammus down multiple times hell become useless and the only thing hell be useful for is taunting you wich isnt that bad scince youre going tenacity into this matchup anyway ^^. never ever underestimate a yi is all i can say. youll easily stomp the bork guys but the wits boys are a pain in the ass even for fulltanks. theres few comps that you cant play this yi into and a example of that is triple cc tank and 2adcs or stuff like that. i had games with shen maokai and skarner in the enemy team for example. theres no way in hell youre going to win a game like that. other than that never write this guy off. one quadra is all it takes for a 0 3 yi to become a god because of items depending on shutdown g. remember hes not tryndamere. hes not going to crit you. hes going to shred you with a combination of true and magic damage while YOU are building armor. thats not what id say is a hard counter to be honest and many of the yi mains would say the same.

I liked Rammus top a lot more before they changed his w. Slowing yourself feels super bad and I have not played much Rammus since, I hope they go back on that change at some point. 6:03 this is why I really enjoy playng junglers in the top-lane, you can roam really really effectively. Rammus, Zac, Nautilus. In Gold the chance that the enemy midlaner looks at the map is small enough, that you can easily cheese a couple kills. 6:37 his Q has a little knock-up as well, its not long, but can be used quite effectively to peel and interrupt dashes.

I think it's because Byeong's (written 병, so it's "Byeong") Rammus is a Rammus toplane. Extremely off-meta. Other Rammus mains don't receive that much attention because they're usually junglers, rarely playing Rammus toplane if autofilled.
