The worst part about this game is first shot accuracy. I understand it on guns like the classic, spectre, stinger, or the LMGs. However, it makes zero sense for the vandal or phantom to not be accurate on the first shot. You shouldn't have the chance to be punished for having good aim by missing when you're on their head, and you DEFINITELY shouldn't have the chance to be rewarded with a kill when your aim is bad and NOT on their head. There's nothing worse than watching your vandal or sheriff shot go next to the enemy's head when your crosshair is right between their eyes...

@@DerfyRed It was consistently recreatable and no it was not that uncommon. It had to do with map geometry. Any small elevation change being hit just right would cause viper q to not be able to be picked up.

with the viper orb it was just a visual bug that had been in the game for quite a while where the orb didnt show at the place where the “hitbox” was meaning he just had to look more to the right left up or down and spam f to pick it up

Damn I’m glad this vid got made. I find manu fundamental things wrong with the game that make the game less competitive like being able to miss a bullet with a vandal but being easily able to make up for it because the second shot will go straight most of the time or just straight up running up close with the phantom and spraying. Not only so many variables but I suspect due to nature of the game with new maps and agents you basically almost have to relearn how to play the game every few months. In addition mobility agents like jett and raze make it much more difficult to predict or play around. Not to mention movement and ping making stuff like poppin swing a thing or having multiple ways of taking gunfights. Imo we shouldn’t be needing to adapt more just because some things are badly designed.

With the exception of the Guardian, rifles are mostly mid-range weapons. If you give rifles base 0 first-shot inaccuracy, you impede on territory that long range weapons should have a significant advantage in. Since there are times where you can't not take a disadvantaged fight against Guardians, Marshals, AWPs, and Outlaws, there's a mechanic called "aiming down sight" that reduces your first shot inaccuracy, decreasing your disadvantage in situations you have to fight. It's just a way to keep weapons in their intended ranges. How often are you taking a gunfight with a Frenzy or Spectre at long range? You're not, because of first shot inaccuracy. Essentially forcing you to play in the weapon's intended range.

If anything adding bullet inaccuracy raises the skill ceiling because now perfect first shot accuracy cannot be used as a crutch. Saying the first shot inaccuracy lowers the skill ceiling is like saying the skill ceiling for playing checkers is higher than playing Texas hold’em, which is obviously not true.

In cs where the ak is close to perfect for the first shot its not able to compete with an equally skilled awp player. 9/10 times if you peak mirage window with an ak or a m4 the awp is winning. having inaccuracy of the level of vandal’s peeking an equally skilled op isnt even possible at longer ranges without luck. Not saying you cant do it but its too luck based.

i have my own opinions on this, as a game developer, a CS global elite faceit 9, and a radiant who has successfully coached friends and friends of friends for free to speak on first bullet accuracy, the multiplier applies on any shot you take, and scales when you spray. this paired with the hit registration issues that have gone unanswered in valorant since its beta are a part of why valorants gunplay can feel like shit sometimes, but theres other factors at play too, for example sake, valorant has a system devised to try and "counter" ping advantage. what this means is that if someone jiggles a corner, you may see that youve shot them in the head, but that damage will actually register as them having been around the corner, so instead of that kill, you hit them for 78 damage. there are so many issues in valorants design inherrently that frankly, youd want to quit if you knew about all of them, but lets remain focused on first bullet accuracy. the multipliers are larger than in csgo, and whilst this wouldnt be a huge issue, keeping in mind the random recoil and the fact that there are many long angles in valorant (over 20m) and you begin to see why some gunfights can feel so bad. when i was first placed, i was placed in bronze. i crutched reyna and the guardian until i hit diamond. but why a guardian? its one of the 4 weapons in the game that basically doesnt have a multiplier. where you aim is where your bullet goes, provided youre not being aim flinched or moving. this gun is how i dominated my way through low elo. and genuinely, you feel the difference. to this day if i feel like im getting valoranted by my gun on longer angles, for example challenging tiles to tree on ascent, ill pull out a guardian, challenge it again and i swear to you, i win that fight 99% of the time with the guardian. its the same from top mid to market on ascent, breeze i almost exclusively run a guardian on, and this new map theyre releasing looks like it has many long angles where the guardian will just dominate because of the first bullet accuracy multipliers.

The guns have spray patterns. Its just that the spread of each individual bullet shot out increases. So with a vandal for example there is a decently tight spray patter for the first 5-6 shots and then it goes crazy.

Its funny how I can play from India on Bahrain CS servers and not get the random lags or jitters that Valorant throws up constantly, even on Indian servers lol. If anything, Valorant does not have the server capacity or fine tuning that Valve does. That's why even on my 30ms ping in Valorant, there will be at least five or six random instances of server error, high server ping, etc when playing any match. Valorant simply does not have the server capacity and needs to work on it. Second, don't even get me started on the gunplay. The randomness is just too much. I think that this is much a circumstance of poor coding or lack of understanding of how guns should work, rather than "the element of surprise" that the incompetent Riot devs want to believe us. They nerfed run and gun antics, but I feel as though they made it worse as prior to this update, I could not hit run and gun shots at all, but now even I can land a random BS headshot from not aiming.
