I was about to pull the trigger on a 1993 Teal Cobra with grey leather in 1997, but as a driver with a lead foot and being 19 years old I couldn’t afford the $12,000/ year insurance I was quoted. I love these cars so much, and thanks for saving one bro! Props to you!!!

I was at my local ford dealer in 93 buying a different car and they had 2 in the teal color on the showroom floor. One had leather the other didn't. They had them discounted. $16,500 for the one with cloth seats.. I kick myself for not buying one back in the day

I never see a 1993 cobra. They are rare. That’s why they bring good money. I would try to save what you can. So all the numbers match.
@GlovedUpGarage29 күн бұрын
I’ll definitely save what I can, but the hood and door are too far gone. The fenders could be worked and possibly saved but the VIN stickers are faded and no longer visible. Thanks for watching!!

Try Marti as in the Marti Report people. They are an awesome source of information, and might be able to point you in the right direction as far as finding NOS parts or at least factory correct parts and labels…

If you can fix that qt, you can 100% save that door.
@GlovedUpGarage26 күн бұрын
@@RedHammerBodyShop it’s a cost versus time difference. A new door is 150 tops, versus 6-8 hours at the low end of the scale. I think the beam is twisted also. In theory any part can be saved if you have the time and skills. Thanks for watching!!
@RedHammerBodyShop26 күн бұрын
@GlovedUpGarage if it wasn't a cobra I would agree. But as a cobra owner I can assure you the more original the car, the more it will be valued. If it's not salvageable I understand, but original doors on a 93 cobra are a definite plus.
@michaelakers869828 күн бұрын
Unless the fender has already been replaced I would not replace the fender I would rather cut the rusted part off and weld on a new section because every body panel has the Vin on it and you devalue the car by replacing body panels
@GlovedUpGarage28 күн бұрын
@@michaelakers8698 the VIN stickers are faded and barely readable. I’d still like to save them if I can, but it’s going to take a lot of work and extra time. Thanks for watching!!

They're not rare but are desirable. Teal probably being the lowest build number. I'm sad to see this cobra in this state but at least you're going to fix it.

I would say it is pretty rare. They only made 368 with grey cloth and likely not all were sunroof cars. Remove the cars that are totalled and gone from existence, low chance a ton are around. That said, lot of work to get it back to being worth some $$.
