I'm a nurse, and have cared for numerous people dealing with chronic autoimmune conditions, and I have a sister with severe mental illness. I happened to hear Hi Ren in the car the day after it was released, when a local dj on an indie radio station played it, calling it the most important piece of music he'd ever heard. I had to pull over and cry on my way to work after hearing it. I've been an avid fan ever since. His music is so relatable for everyone, in one way or another, but it's the kind of person he is, and the kinds of people who he brings together that makes him truly special. Much love to you. I found you with your initial message to Ren. I'll be checking out more of your music! ❤ (I bet you anything that if you lose your sight, you'll still find a way to keep making music.)

Stay strong brother! Ren's song Love Music Part 1 would be a good thing for you to listen to if you haven't heard it already. Incredibly encouraging and actually touches on what you're talking about. I've battled w/mental illness all my life. I became chronically ill with ME/CFS 3 yrs ago. His music made me feel seen & heard. His lyrics beautifully describes our suffering. His music is my outlet of emotions. On bad days I listen to Ren's more heavy, dark songs to let out my anger/frustrations. On good days I listen to upbeat Ren songs to celebrate the good days. His music has saved me.

First I want to say that I haven seen any of your videos before this one, and haven't listened to your music yet (will, but didn't want it to influence what I write). I know your place of darkness too well. I decided to end it all a few weeks ago. Again. But managed to push the decision forward again, for the thousands of times. 52 years old and have been struggling with my mental health since the age of 7 and lately my physical health. Ren has been my dance partner for 18 month now and without him I would have stopped dancing. I'm in a situation like yours and Rens, released my first book 6 months ago, that I spent 11 years and 15000 hours on, but my health stopped me from holding lectures and running my company. What I'm rambling about is that Ren have and will be a reason that many of us are alive. I don't like rap but I will go and give you a view and like on your song Flowers no matter what.

For two years now I listen to Ren and Ren's music, and for year and a half now, Ren is the the reason I get myself out of bed and go day by day, slowly, but I'm still here. And thank God for sending me that Boi, who I call My Baby Brother now!!! If I wake up broken I let my alarm play for a while (Ren's Fred Again mash up), I tell myself "if he can give us all that beauty while in so much pain and hurt, who am I to not go through this day". No BULLSHIT, frfr. BTW, I*ve been loosing my vision rapidly in the last few months due to autoimmunity, but my Lil Bro is still getting me up every day. TLDR :Ren effect is as real as it gets. I am still alive bc of it, and that is a God's honest truth. Never heard you before, yt just suggested this. Thanks for sharing your story. I too have eye issues which are related to a chronic disease I have lived with since childhood. I too, could lose my sight in one or both eyes any time. I may lose more than just my sight. And yet, I have been glad since the day I was diagnosed, since it meant, with medication, I would live and not die as I would without modern science. I think of those generations before me who did not have access to the medical devices which keep me alive and count myself blessed. On my bad days throughout life, I have consoled myself with the fact that I was lucky to be born in the country I was, to the family I was (even if we had problems) and that there are millions in the world worse off than I am. My art helps, although I gave it up for 10 years. Art is always a love/hate relationship with each of us. We can choose to be frustrated by it, or we can choose to accept our current limitations, and strive to make the most of what we can do well and improve wherever we can. I feel there are 4 main qualities for any art to flourish: Talent, education, observation and practice. It is good you have a focus, but please, never think you can't still make music if you loose your sight. If music is your true calling and passion and saviour, you will make it in whatever form you are able to. I would never wish to sully the examples set for all of us, by those who live full and worthwhile lives with no sight. Where would the world have been if Ray Charles never sang, wrote or played a note? Imagine if Stevie Wonder threw the towel in because he could not be bothered finding ways to navigate the world he found himself in? You have a whole lifetime of music to make, not just until you loose your sight. Perhaps you will be able to find some way to pass on what has been passed to you, and to help another generation of artists find their own voice, even with a disability? I would like to hear your name in the future as someone who has inspired others to the extent that you have been inspired. Ed to add, As for Ren's impact on my life: *Where do I begin to tell a story of how great a man, (musician, singer, rapper, beatboxer, scatter, lyricist, storyteller, director, producer, actor etc...and all round great guy) has altered my day to day existence over the past 18 months or more.* It can be unsettling to acknowledge that someone I will never meet, can have such an impact on my life.

I have been "ill" for 12years, the first 7 without a diagnosis and now they have diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, cfs, cps and pretty much most of the alphabet! I found Ren originally through the song blind eyed, with Sam Tompkins. My health was at its worst about 3 years ago and I was stuck in bed almost all the time, for months on end! KZbin and music were my saviour but Ren, well he got me out that bed, he got me eating, sleeping and believing I could fight back against my illness and 3 years later I walk mainly without sticks anymore (most of the time) and I have even had times I have been well enough to go to the gym in this last year! I have had to fight hard, with many set backs and I will always be ill but I have had the best time in the last couple of years (health wise) that I have had for 10 years before that! I think I was probably in the last year of my life (that's how bad it was) I was waiting to....well that's to deep but ,you get it! I have never been a person to follow anyone but Ren is the reason my 6kids don't only still have their dad but they have a dad with who they can LIVE, LAUGH AND PLAY with! From someone who couldn't get out of bed to someone who was able to go see Ren live at the secret garden party and has been to see Sam Tompkins live twice in the last year! Me, my better half and my kids are huge fans of The and me, well I credit Ren with giving me the strength to take a 2nd chance at living!

I remember watching your channel awhile back but didn’t see you in my feed so now I know why. We talked once a couple of years ago about your vision loss as it was the same disease my husband had. I want you to know that this year my husband of 34 years became very depressed as he was at only about 3-5 degrees of vision remaining. He couldn’t get through it and in June he left our family and devastated us all. We didn’t know he was so depressed and ready to give up on life. It still traumatizes me and our daughter and we are left with guilt and pain. Please stay positive and if you hit bad times reach out to someone and let them know. Ask for help. Don’t give up. It may seem to be a solution when times are bleak but it’s never the right choice. You are so talented and you are special. You have gone through so much but you’ve come out the other side. This has blown me away Thank you for this. More than you can ever know. I could never say it in a way you deserve. There is ZERO SOMETHINGS that a human needs more than being empathized with or somebody finally validating how we feel, how wr have somehow survived to this point in life, and historically, nobody understand us. Hardly anyone especially even could care. Most of us have nobody in hat literally seem to be with me. I’m married, have children, and still have felt alone most of the time. And now, finally , I have an entire “book club” that agree with what I believe deep in my heart Even though it is what my opinion is, which, who cares if someone agrees, about the brilliance of REN, there are so many that have had the same effects on their self, mind, body and soul, as I have and I can’t get enough. The reactions are great. I’ve watched way over 1000 ren reactions and don’t do much else in my free time but that BUT, it’s the comments. It’s the stories. It’s that I’m finally comfortable to share my heart with the world. BECASUE the rest of RENegades are always here to validate what I’m doing and going through and benefiting from becasie of REN SHEET MAN, I Have been typing since you started talking and I have been in all but tears for ten minutes Oh my God TODAY, I’m having a rough day, and it’s in 7 am, but been up since 4 BUT, bevasue of you, the trajectory of my day has taken a turn that maybe I don’t deserve, as a lot of my issues are self caused , but I’m SOOOOOOOO HAPPY to hear what you have suffered with and then been able to turn things around, for the same reason as me…REN -and the RENegades! You guys are borderline everything to me because 20 months ago, when I was gifted REN , I was DONE. Life was to much. I am disabled, with having MS for 25 years, since I was 16 yrs old. Now, finally, just when I thought my worthiness was about to fizzle, that I was wasting my time producing the art that i wanted to so bad give up, stop being patient with what I believed my woodworking and art coukd bring me, financially especially, but even just emotionally, but just when I thought REN was the reason I got my shit together, once I realized it was the RENegades that were the reason why FINALLY my drive to better everything about myself was , that’s when I was finally OK no matter what happened. I’m done with this video and wish it would go another hour I am on my way to listen to “flowers” and your other music. Bevasue I KNOW, you are gonna be fire. I haven’t heard a single beat from you, but there is no doubt how amazing it’s gonna be. This is the smartest video you have ever done to help what your future holds. And like you, I just need to get it all out today, in a healthy way. And it’s gonna be beautiful

Hi Blindsight, maybe you are not aware but it is a pleasure listening to you. You know why? You are doing the exact same thing as Ren. You tell the story of your life, the vulnerability of youth, how life kicks you in the face when your guard is down, how to get yourself back on your feet, now wiser and stronger, still having a goal or a vision and ready for the next round. These moments, for some in round1, for others in round11, are the worst. All doors lock, the curtains close, lights go out and everything that could give direction or tell time disappears: You're on you own again. An average guy, just like me, never asking for help, boys don't cry, creative, overthinker, working his ass off, believing you can trust everyone. A Pleaser, A Mister Nice Guy. And then, after years of so called high positions and high payed jobs, a house, a wife and three kids, money in the bank, everybody happy... except me. I felt myself a stupid worthless piece of shit and had no drive or energy to move. The problem was not that I didn't reach my goals, I had no goals, I had no clue where I was going. After 20 years of "just below risk level" drinking, I made drinking my new job which resulted in celebrating my 50th birthday in a rehab center (3rd time). It was my round9 (it's not about the number, just boxing metafoor), just 4 weeks in rehab, no more psychoses or delirium and the last days of Lorazepam. A big guy comes to me and shakes my hand. He told me that he spotted me and knew me of the last time I was also here. He had some kind of extra program to help me with outdoor activities, yoga, dance and make music as kind of therapy. I laughed and explained that it made no sense to ask me for that, I was done, out of order and out of society. In the days that followed, everyday he came to say hi and everyday we spoke a bit longer. After a week I knew his whole life story, how his father was always drunk, his mother and brother kicked and hit him, that he left home on his 14th to never see his family again, became an alcoholic and a junk, in and out jail and lived on the streets. He became sick, realy sick and ended in hospital with a yellow face, his liver stopped functioning. The only thing that could save him was a livertransplantation but being an alcoholic he could not get one, so he would die within a couple of weeks. Than something absurds happens, in the middle of the night he had to wake up, 4 doctors on his bed, they had suitable liver for him, the person that was planned for it died that same night and there were no other patients in need for that specific type of liver and it can only be used for couple of hours. The big man promised hisself and the skies above that he had only one job, help as much addicts finding time, direction and purpose again. To this day he is still working at the same rehab, doing the same thing. The feeling that someone is really interested in you because of who you are, instead of what you achieved was a revelation for me. The fact that this (big) man shared his own story without hesitation, without shame and in full acceptance of his own role in it, while looking at me, his eyes said: "Don't you worry, I know where you are, I've been there". The fact that there are always people in a worse situation than you, makes you humble. I know it sounds like a cliche, but sinds that moment I know the real meaning of the word HOPE. Hope is Force shared or a shared Force. Hope is a kind of energy of last resort, a little backup battery that you didn't know you had, maybe a sparkle or even life itself, hope could be life itself or the other way around. Hope is realer than faith and rawer than a wish, expectations are for the stupid. The 21 minutes of this video are your "Hi Blindsight". Congratulations my friend! Always remember that you are not the only one walking this road. I walk the same path, it's not easy, it's not fast but everyday we go in the right direction. Take care and be nice! (Just a Dutch guy)

Aaron don’t give up you have great lyrical flow and a real talent for music. I found your channel through Ren and have followed you since. I am proud of you for getting off the drugs, putting your prison experience behind you, and for keeping going with your music despite all the difficulties and setbacks you’ve had. Aaron, I love your track ‘Flowers’ because it sent out such a message of positivity and when you spoke genuinely from the heart about the track, it connected. Keep connecting in 2025 Blindsight, make this the year of ‘total positivity’ and new music, and be the uplift you wanna see reflected back. If you keep going, I am sure more good things will happen. Also, put your Sick Boi remix back up in your channel so more Renegades get to hear it. As for Ren, for me he is pure positivity. He is highly intelligent, thought provoking and a totally inspiring lyricist, music producer and musician. Even when Ren is frustrated and angry at how aspects of his career are progressing, such as during the whole KujoBeats situation, Ren expresses love and respect to those around him and to his fans. He sheds light on the greed in the music industry and tries to educate people in better ways to communicate with others and be creative. He does all this whilst battling illness. I think in that way Ren is a real inspiration to so many, so I see why he would be such an inspiration to you as well.

I have had tinnitus for 35 years now and for the most part it was manageable. Then I got covid and now the sound in my head is louder than I ever thought possible. One day a thought popped into my head and I imagined that a doctor told me that he could get rid of my ringing but he would have to amputate one of my legs and without hesitation I told him to do it. A few months later i was watching a video of Ren's where his told a story about how he told his mom that he would cut one mof his legs off if it would make his symptoms go away. It blew my mind to hear somebody say that. Ren is definitely a part of why I chose to keep going every day. Keep doing what you do BLINDSIGHT.

The algorithm is giving you some love today, and I had the time to watch 🙂. Just checked out Flowers and your take on Murderer and subbed based on those. I’m no rap expert though, Ren is the first person to make me stop and listen to it, I just like what I like, which definitely isn’t all of it. Love your style though

I remember when flowers came out. I know I subbed to you but I had to resub. Don't stop making music cause you're not getting the love you thought you would. Make music for the love you have for music. Ren never thought he would be in the place he is now. I bet he is overwhelmed. Just keep doing what you love and whatever is supposed to happen will happen.

I wish I could just download my thoughts without having to thumb type on my phone. The first time I saw Hi Ren was almost two years ago. Because he quoted the she sells seashells part it was the very next thing I looked for. For me that was a wee spark that I haven’t had for years. Just to look something up because it seemed an obvious referral. Then there was everything that’s followed. Ren gave me hope for humanity. Honestly it’s wild to think that one person could do this by himself. Ren May be a great book club leader but it’s more than just him. From watching reactions I’ve learned about way more independent artists. The Renegade community is awesome on so many levels. Even that term I love as many have been renegades in their own lives. Ren is a renegade in his own life story as well. I am going through many changes recently, leaving me more isolated than ever. Music has always been there when a person can’t or chooses not to. There are day I just listen to his music. My Rentherapy. It’s helped so much especially this last year. Ren does inspire just by trying his best to be true to himself. He’s openly shared a bunch of his story and has just made himself more relatable. That he goes through all that he has and continues to while continuing to grow in so many aspects is itself an inspiration. The love he exudes feel real and raw and honest and beautiful. Love inspires love. Galant inspires talent. Creative expression inspires creative expression. I have struggled with thoughts of taking my life since the first time I tried before I even knew there was a word for it. Those thoughts will be there. There have been days those thoughts are there and I’ll listen to him sing about Joe and remember that someone will remember and be effected by it. Hope for humanity! I thank you for sharing. Losing eyesight doesn’t mean things have to end they’ll just have to change. Humans can be quite adaptable eh! Continue to feel inspired.

Do you need eyesight to do this? You can speak your lyric ideas with someone and go over them, speaking them to one another until it is the song you want. You can also have someone wlse man the computer while you listen and tell them what to do. The old saying "If there is a will there is a way" should be remembered. That said I hope you never go completely blind.

You made it sound like you would quit music when you loose your vision entirely and I just want to point out Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. Both made amazing music and were blind. I just looked up Flowers - Blindsight kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqeUkKenZriSosk Really enjoyed it, loved the sharing of flowers - should be heard by more people, because gratitude and giving back and showing love is what makes the world a better place. Depression is a hard problem to live with - that black hole just keeps coming, so fight it with joy and music as much as you can. Keep going, that's the only song of yours I've heard but I loved it. Keep going. I hear Ren's music and it helps me fight my pain, fight my depression, gives me the beat to live by. I haven't listened to anything else but Ren since I found him. He helps me belong in the world, shares how I feel with the world, gives a voice to our pain and entrapment in our bodies. Ren gives me hope. Ren is important to me, and I love seeing him inspire everyone around him. Ren's music and life philosophy is the voice that loosens the noose on the rope for me. Loved Flowers - will go check out more of your stuff, not ready to listen to much else but Ren yet, but if the rest of your music is a good as Flowers it'll be worth it. Keep going.
