I watched this and said HELL NO. Contacted AdvancedTech and sent it to them. They were able to repair it and sent me a video recording of everything reassembled and working! The price was super reasonable compared to what Apple Genius bar was asking for. Note, I live in TX and they're located in Addison, IL. I didn't have an issue sending them my iPad Mini 2 to get fixed. They're trustworthy and professional. Don't bother trying to do it yourself. By the time you buy all the required equipment, it will be cheaper for you to send it to a professional. Just do it!

Hope you can answer these questions for me, What liquid stuff did you use on the soldering pen to remove the connector? and did you use the same liquid stuff to hold it together also? and one more then what was it that you used on top of the connector some type of yellow stuff that sticked? what is it called and where can i get it at?

ADVANCEDTECH Mobile may have used a form of soldering paste, also known as flux. Try googling Fluxite. It helps solder flow. Flux does not bond materials. The yellow is probably a stiff form of insulating tape.

I would normally remover the battery connector brfore the screen

Twenty minutes into this, I realized why I paid this company $85 to repair mine. Plus they paid for the entire cost of shipping.

hello Ive successfully soldered the charging port in the motherboard, so now Im getting power and the ipad boots up and there is voltage when I plug the charger in but it wont charge the battery at all!! did I miss soldered? is it some pins are for power and some other are for charging? In other words is it possible to get some voltage after soldering the flex cable, even if its not done correctly? or there is only one way to do it means if I get voltage then I did it right? Thanks!

AHMED FADHIL make sure before tu close you get voltage on the battery port if u not get voltage is not correctly soldering

@@AdvancedTech so I have to test the voltage on the battery pins not the charging connector right? Because I'm getting voltage from the charging port, and the iPad boots when I connect a lighting cable and there is no battery, means the ipad is getting power through the port I soldered..

Well because the ipad was charging and then disconnecting, I've tried different cables , different plugs same thing.

Hi mr. Ahmed, i just want to ask question, is charging port one reason why the the ipad mini is not powering on? I just did a harware unlock an ipad mini and the result was successful, however since the touch panel is broken, i changed it to a new one. It was also successful with a lil problem in gap in lower part of the ipad near the home button. So i opened it again to check why there is gap. I didnt notice i am using a tweezer to check what is in there, it seems like i accidentally touch metal parts of the charging port inside. It seems i accidentally shorted it.

And why Apple used a connector that needs soldering instead of just connecting it ? So you can't fix it yourself and send it to them so they can charge you.
