How RFK Could Ruin The 2024 Election

Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. had been an unorthodox Democratic candidate for the 2024 election, and is now pursuing an independent ticket. While many conservatives, libertarians, and republicans had supported Kennedy during his Democratic bid to challenge Joe Biden, RFK's independent ticket could do far more harm to republican chances for victory in the 2024 election, especially if Donald Trump becomes the republican nominee for the presidential election. How will Kennedy's independent ticket spoil the 2024 election?

Another great video, really interesting as ever, and with a much clearer perspective than half the crap on the internet nowadays Do you have any thoughts on British politics at the minute? Like America, we also seem to be pretty unstable, but with a fraying Conservative government that seems to have wilfully abandoned all the operating principles of conservatism despite making much hay over culture wars. Unfortunately, all the serious opposition is growing increasingly Europhiliac SJW leftist and I for one feel pretty stumped with the whole sorry state of affairs. I completely understand if this is all a bit outside your interest but I'd love to hear your take on the issue.

Because for a third party to work you need to build up a local base of support then get congressmen elected. Only then would a third party president be able to do anything. Congress is the branch with the power to do things domestically. A third party that tries to skip the process breaks the system and not in a way that can get anything done
@scorpioneldar

We are not a two party system. We are a congressional system. At times we had 3 or 4 parties and neither the democrats nor Republicans were in those starting parties. Small parties can become powerful but the path is through congress. President is the last step not the first

@scorpioneldar
@scorpioneldar 7 ай бұрын
@@capital_of_texas the most probable result of this is not a new unity party. but a bull moose party analogue. where a person slighted by their party runs for president but cannot get enough votes to actually win creating uncertainty and a legitimacy crisis for whomever does win (just as how Teddys run against taft created Woodrow Wilson who is often seen as America's accidental president.) . indeed. even if you get the most electoral collage votes you DO NOT WIN unless you get a Majority. in that case? Congress decides who it wants. that's the risk. if you want to win as a challenger. YOU NEED CONGRESSIONAL SUPPORT. he doesn't have it. from neither the right nor the left. he doesn't have the support from his own party. which is why he has to try and strike from outside in the first place. he doesn't have it from the opposition and likely never will. and there are currently not enough independents or third parties in congress to build a base of support from. the idea is a fantasy. it takes consistent effort to build a party from the ground up it took decades for the radical republicans to get enough people to eventually supplant the Whigs and even then the Whigs Dems and Reps all shared power for several elections before the civil war removed most of the dems from the country and the whigs joined the republican's in the crisis. our system simply does not allow for top down party creation no one has seriously attempted a roots up creation since the radical republicans decided to form a party on the grounds of ending what they saw as the twin evils of American society namely slavery and polygamy. yes one of these things is not like the other. but that was the mission statement of the republican party on its creation. we need a real third choice. not a fractious deception that is incapable of functioning in our society. any attempt to run as a third party candidate without an actual third party with power behind you is an exercise in destructive narcissism and creates a third choice even worse than our already terrible two choices no matter how good your intentions are. this is a marathon. everyone needs to stop trying to sprint.

RFK is the type of candidate I always thought presidents were like growing up. His ability to speak at length about his reasoning for each policy position he has along with citing research papers, history and other countries' policies is such a call to reason. The left is so convinced he is a vaccine denier because of small snippets without the adequate context or having done the work to read the source material he is citing. He has a very good point that most reasonable would agree with. To hold manufacturers of vaccines to same testing standards as other pharmaceuticals. I think its foolish to assume that these pharma companies exist with the public's best interest in mind without further scrutiny and constant vigilance, especially after the widely publicized stories that we all accept like the Sacklers and Oxycontin. This is a real opportunity to start voting for leaders based on their competence and values vs picking the lesser of two evils which has defined our two party system for too long.

It helps not only black communities, but everyone. His father was on this path to these communities and spent much of his time in these communities. RFK can be a serious contender just so long as he makes sure to stress that he is independent. There are a lot of people now in this country who are sick completely of the Democrats and of the Republicans and who would love nothing more than an independent candidate to take it all. There's roughly equal numbers of these people on either side of the aisle as it sits, and while both parties have consolidated for a show-down behind their respective candidates, Biden and Trump, there's enough people in the general, everyday population who are sick of those two that RFK can plausibly win, without even counting people who haven't voted in previous elections. It's entirely possible that an independent can bring new voters out of the woodwork who haven't voted before out of disgust and apathy for the two-party system. I suppose I don't see him as a joke candidate, because I know the numbers of people in this country who hate our current system and want to see someone break the mold are not insignificant.

First up, since when are those swing states? They just work different in that the winners of each District get that District's vote, regardless of who wins the State at large. Granted, I can see a scenario where Kennedy carries Maine _as a whole_ but Trump and Biden get a plurality of votes from one district each. There's also states like Michigan and Colorado who are trying to *bar* Trump from the ballot. Kennedy could be an option for the spoiled Republican ballots in such states. That all being said, I think that the ultimate end of a viable Kennedy campaign is a Trump *Harris* administration: our first *split* administration since at least 1880!

If it comes down to Biden, Trump or RFK I'm voting RFK. Biden isn't the same person when he ran 3 years ago let alone the person he was as VP, his mind isn't there. If the DNC opened debates that would have shown the world. He can't go through a speech without losing his train of thought, I'm still trying to understand what the one word he said that sums up American, he ended the war in Afghanistan, left all the gear and still increased the defense budget the following year. As much as I love watching Trump 'shake up' Washington it's not like he put the fire under Hiliary like he said he would, there was no 'draining' of the swamp, he should have put a stop to lobbying or at least made an executive order to expose the people that would try to stop it. I hope they stay as 1 hit wonders.

As it stands he is currently estimated to be taking a bit more votes/doners from Trump than Biden from recent polling but when he 1st announced it was actually the opposite slightly in votes at least. I think his Palestine/Israel stance alienated him from some would be voters on the left/libertarian wings though he likely picked up new voters elsewhere. By far most of his voter base and doner base are nonaffiliated with either party so I think he will likely drive up voter turnout and not affect the winner unless he makes some interesting moves with VP, national debates, ect.

I simply do not agree that would be Trump voters would break for RFK, the more you get to know him the more you realize he's super far left on most issues even more than Biden, he just happens to be more honest about government corruption and is against foreign intervention. In which case you're better off with Trump anyway because Trump actually has the chance to win, he has the vendetta against the administrative state and uniparty establishment and he has a proven track record of helping spread peace not war.

He can take a lot of votes from Biden just because of his poor performance. Trump's base is going to turn out for him, but Biden doesn't have a base, and he is constantly making different wings of his party angry at him. I think while he theoretically takes evenly from both, he might take more from Biden just because his voters have more to abandon him over.

What is RFK's thoughts on illegal immigration? If he is not 100 percent committed to closing the border, he will not get many republican votes, especially in Texas and Arizona. This is solely the only reason I am even willing to vote for Trump.

He's already lost. Biden's support of Israel has doomed him, it's split the Democratic vote especially amongst black and Muslim Americans. The question now is, will an independent win or will they only take enough votes from the Democratic party to help the Republicans who are still fairly high on support for Israel. The only way the Democrats stand a chance is if they put forward a highly anti-Israel candidate, which if they do they will likely win.
