Ah yes the good old days, the Phrygia vs lake war was massive and honestly just came down to commanding at the end of the day because Phrygia had the better players, but sadly they shutdown like early to late 2019 but most of those guys are either in Sparta (Lake became Sparta) or they went to Carthage (newer one) but none the less most of them are retired now. Good video though, me and the other vets of the genre applaud you.

I've been in AJCs Rome and other affiliated groups and wow were some of these times amazing. I started the genre in late 2020 but I wasn't really all that active, fast forward to late 2021 when I decided to retry the genre and I joined my first ever legion; Legio IX Hispana. I was young and stupid but I was a good soldier, reached the rank of tesserarius which in that legion was the highest NCO but didn't reach higher ranks or anything due to my maturity. IX eventually ended up being disbanded due to inactivity, early 2022 I was pretty much the NCO keeping the legion afloat but after I was discharged (or got dishonorably discharged I don't remember) the legion began falling apart and became the most inactive legion, as I said I was the person keeping it afloat, I was recruiting the most people and hosting the most events. I remember the reason for my discharge was being demoted to sesquiplicarius (the lowest NCO rank) while others who were far less active got demoted. Move on to 7 or so ish months and it was really late 2022 I joined Legio XI but decided not to go for the officer career or NCO, of course I began as a sesquiplicarius due to my experience but decided to tryout for the signifers where I succeeded after a bunch of training, stayed there for a while and became Aquiliferi (the standard bearer) however Legio XI was unfortunately disbanded I think in early 2023 by the Consul Militarum at the time, I forgot his name since it has been 2 years but I still remember it, we got disbanded over some people from our legion insulting and disrespecting the consul after he unjustly disqualified us from wargames. Moving on I joined Sparta, I began as a perioikoi but became an officer, however, I left shortly after since I lost all motivation Then I rejoined Rome, I was given the offer by one of my friends and joined the Caesare Cohortes, where I was once more a signifer but this time I was even better in melee combat and was eager to become an aquilifer, which I eventually ended up becoming, I don't remember all that much of my time in CC other than the fact that the leader was Kubas, the same person that demoted me in Legio IX, however, I did grow to like him and we became friends. After CC was disbanded I joined the Lictors Guild when I was invited by a friend and so I became the Alpha Evocati, evocati is a rank that varies on legions and paramilitaries but in this case, evocati were on par with exploratores. Alpha Evocati/Exploratore/Speculatore is basically centurion however for the special forces core. I left LG after 1 month and retired again...until once more an offer came. A levy for legio IX led by some of my friends from the disbanded Eleventh Legion, I immediately joined and was given the rank of centurion, I left shortly after that however but then rejoined, this time as an aquilifer and then as an Alpha Exploratore. IX again sadly got disbanded after it was heavily inactive. Fast forward to mid-2024 and I joined Legio II, I was invited by a friend of mine "Rasp" to serve as an officer, he knew that I had plenty of experience, so I became a Centurion, pursuing the officer core once more, a cohort system was installed in place and I lead the third cohort, at the start it was rough but nonetheless I along with my faithful team of NCOs and my 2nd in command, my optio we managed to turn the third cohort into the most active and even won the legion wargames. Following that I became the Primus Pilus but I had to leave after a scandal. II eventually turned into XI and I rejoined, however this time I wasn't an officer or NCO and started out as auxilia because the current leader at that time hated and distrusted me very much, I still managed to become an exploratore after tryouting but it just didn't feel fun since the legatus legionis utterly hated me. Another thing I'm proud of is how 2 of the NCOs I trained and my optio grew to become high ranks, one of them even became the Praefectus Castrorum. There were countless more experiences but they were not of much importance, a bunch of them were levies like for example: I was a Tesserarius in the Praetorian Guard but left, I just didn't like them very much Senior Exploratore in a Legio XI Levy, I was on par with many outstanding players at that time but the levy was cut short. Primus Pilus in a Legio IV levy, but the legion didn't get levied A bit later though I did actually join a fourth legion, some of the command staff consisting of the same friends from the first XI I was in and became centurion. I even became a plebeian councilman at one point, I was elected as well and didn't buy a gamepass. All in all my time within Rome and Sparta alike was extremely fun, taught me how to lead and also some discipline, I made many friends and met a lot of new people however at this time I'm retired from Rome and I don't expect returning anytime soon, mainly because when the new province dropped I lost everything...literally everything. I spent over 4000 Robux on the old game, tens and tens of hours, and had a million denarii and all sorts of armor, gear, and trophies from all kinds of legions and groups. Honestly, I’ve always had the idea of creating a modern country-themed group in Roblox, with Armed Forces, Police, and other branches which real countries have. I’ve participated in many such groups, experiencing the action, events, and behind-the-scenes politics that come with them. At one point, I even reached out to the actual government of the country we were representing to assist me (as the developer) and my friend (the group owner) and they actually helped us with photographs and media material we could use to recreate some stuff into Roblox. Believe it or not, we even made it onto the news in that country! Unfortunately, due to our lack of experience, the group eventually fizzled out and collapsed due to how boring everything was I guess + there was a power struggle of our own so y e a h. After witnessing the dramas, political headaches, and challenges that came with running a group like this, I told myself, "This isn’t worth the time," and moved on with my life. Still, I’ve always had this thought: what if I gave it another shot and built something like this from scratch? Honestly, I’m not sure where to start, but the idea keeps coming back to me.

So, I joined Legio XV as a duplicarius, but it was disbanded after a month. I then joined the Vigiles as a sesquiplicarius. Later, I became a Vigiles speculatores (special forces) apprentice, training to become a Vigiles speculatores aquilifer, but the unit was disbanded a few months ago. Now, I work as a loyal custodes excubitor for the Nero gens (political family). Fortunately, my Italian friends and I, as part of the group Concilium Italicum, are working to create a new legion!
