Rockstar makes good games and masterpieces i agree but rockstar is nowhere leading the gaming industry. They used to lead the gaming industry till 2013 or games they released in 2000-2013 are gta 2,3,vice City,sandreas ,gta 4 , bully , manhunt 2,warriors,max Payne 3 ,rdr 1,gta 5 all were fun and unique they all were masterpieces . But rockstar now they only have released rdr 2 which is a masterpiece i agree but only 1 game in 11 years or I say roughly 12 years. You also could not tell a single game after the release of gta 5 except rdr 2. Rockstar has got lazy and are not launching games more frequently then they should . I would say the real gaming industry leader right now is fromsoftware. They are delivering all high quality unique AAA games which everyone wants to play . If we compare fromsoftware to rockstar from 2014 -2024 fromsoftware has launched dark souls 2 in 2014, bloodborne in 2015, dark souls 3 in 2016 . All these 3 bangers in just 3 years . Then fromsoftware launched skireo shadow die twice in 2019 for which they won game of the year after that they launched elden ring in 2022 which defeated God of war Ragnarok and won game of the year and this year 2024 they launched the dlc for elden ring which is 30 hours long and is one of the most highly rated games released this year . If you look closely bloodborne and dark souls 3 were the 2nd best games released in those years. Bloodborne and witcher 3 both deserved to win the game of the year in 2015 both were equal in people's eyes . Meanwhile rockstar just released rdr2 in these years. Yes it is a revolutionary title but fromsoftware revolutionized the gaming industry 3-4 ( bloodborne,skireo,ds3,elden ring) times while rockstar did it only once. So in my opinion fromsoftware is the leader in the gaming industry right now .
