Thanks for the awesome video. Romulo's game is amazing and he is super persistent and mentally strong. I think of Romulo's knee cut as a position instead of a technique. He doesn't just do a "knee cut" he enters that knee cut position and he has a level of sophistication that it's hard for his opponent to keep up with. Like you said it's interesting how he keeps adjusting in the position he doesn't fall in love with any one grip or point of pressure. He is perfectly comfortable leaving one form of control for another. One thing that I'm not sure served him is his willingness to accept injuries. I wonder how much more he could have developed if he didn't spend so much of his peak athletic years recovering from such horrible injuries.

Well said, hopefully the up coming generation can learn a lot from him but also to take care of their bodies

Great vid Alex, an excellent breakdown and analysis of Romulo. I wonder how much influence Draculino had on the young Romulo?
@AlecBauldingКүн бұрын
💯 Draculino had an important influence on him and many of the top Gracie Barra competitors of that time period. Just not enough time to mention him within the constraints of the video

Romulo's game is super strong for shorter people as well, suprisingly. I use so much of his game as a 5'7 featherweight. Bottom and top.

And it’s a harder to deal with than the lasso spider so that helps a ton. And all the passing still works
