Cass is awesome! And it is sad that we do not find out more about her father during FNV. He was the only just reasonable guy in F2. Can you talk about other Fallout companions? I know not all of them have many details. But that allows more space for interpretation, For example Marcus as an attempt to overwrite your destiny and predidgenese at the same time but kinda becoming a head of mutant exclusive community.

Like every Fallout companion, I love Cass. But where I love Boone for hitting things on the opposite side of the map or Veronica for exploding anything that gets closer to me... I like Cass for the fun value she brings through dialouge. Said it on the community post and I'll say it again here; congrats on 10k! When I first played this game when I was younger, I loved energy weapons, and worked for the Van Graffs for a chance to make money and get my hands on them. I recruited Cass specifically for the purpose of bringing her to Jean Baptiste to kill her. I was a bit of a cold little bastard looking back.

Man, New Vegas seems wild. There's so much about Fallout's story that seems tripe and phoned in under Bethesda's ownership, but New Vegas keeps sounding like one of the best RPGs I've seen that was set in the lawless west. I actually tried it the other day, but it seemed bugged on my system. ;_;

Recommend the pc version. It’s an old game, some bugs and crashes so save constantly. On the other hand, new vegas has the best written story and characters in the franchise. Highly recommend to play the game

Congratz on the 10k+ and great work as always! I think Obsidian is the benchmark for well written characters in video games. There is a reason New Vegas is leagues better than any other Fallout game after all. I think a big part of their secret sauce is how well they tie the characters of the story into the themes of the story. New Vegas for example is a revenge thriller turned spy thriller. But the overall theme of the game is the weight of the past. The Courier is seeking out who shot them and why, House wants to achieve what he failed to do 200 years ago, Cass wants to reconcile her past with her present. Since all are focused in the same direction it allows the story to be cohesive despite its open world and the nature of a game like that. They similarly did great work with Knights of the Old Republic 2. Its a game about trauma and responsibility. The Exile has to live with her choices at Malachor and choose how to use her special powers, while the best antagonist ever created for anything ever, seriously I cannot rant about her enough, Kreia rages at her trauma and wants to end the possibility of trauma moving forward. Keep up the great work Lydi, I look forward to what you have coming and look forward to posting more long winded posts on those videos lol.

@@TheMecoolerest001I always viewed New Vegas as a post-apocalyptic spaghetti western. Think A Fistful of Dollars, only with nukes lol. And one thing you might have overlooked in Obsidians handling of New Vegas is that Obsidian was originally Black Isle Studios, who wrote the original Fallout games. I think this is why they nailed the story- they’re the same writers who created it decades before

Cass is my favorite character in New Vegas. She’s such a…well-defined mess, a functional alcoholic who avoids hard drugs (at least in part because of her heart condition), aggressive and assertive yet largely directionless, a veteran of the post-apocalyptic world but also naive. She’s 37 or 39, but she’s clearly still in the headspace of an early or mid-twenties-I agree that she’s emotionally underdeveloped. I also think she’s failed to ever process her mother’s death and those regrets of never asking questions she’ll always be wondering about the answers for. I like to conjecture about a post-New Vegas Cass, assuming she lives: not usually a “shipper”, but her and the male Courier getting together just seems so…fitting. We don’t know much about pre-extreme head trauma Courier but the few items we do receive and glean imply that he’s lived and seen as much as Cass has. Imagine merely the concept of them both wandering as the chaotic buddy comedy duo of the Wastes, alternatively causing problems and/or fixing them.

It's funny that you gush about her endings and how they all fit her story, cuz for me in my most recent playthrough I finally took her as a companion, got to the bottom of the hill the Mojave outpost is on, talked to her for something only to have her say "you know you can be a real asshole sometimes" so I shot her twice in the head and turned her into a pile of green goo The lesson? Don't insult people in full power armor mere moments after agreeing to travel with them
