It seemed like there was a worldclass battle between boxers every month in the 80's. Miss those days. Boxers still make way more than MMA but I think MMA maybe has dimished boxing a bit. MMA is a truer test of toughness raw power.

Sugar Ray was my favorite when I was growing up, but let me tell you who the one guy who Floyd Mayweather would not have matched up well at all against, and I don't think he matched up well.against Sugar Ray. Thomas Hearns would be a nightmare for Floyd. If they fought at welterweight especially. Tommy is 5 minches taller with the reach of a heavyweight, the jab of a heavyweight, and a right hand of a heavyweight. He could box too. His weakness was, he had a little bit of a weak chin, and he lost stamina in some fights. I think he would have killed Floyd, and I think Sugar Ray would have outsmarted and outboxed Floyd. I think Duran in his prime would have beat Floyd too. I'm not just blabbing. I followed all these careers, and followed sugar Ray and Floyd as amateurs through their first pro fight and til the end. I think Floyd is a master boxer, but he fought in a very weak era and I feel he lost a few fights that he was gifted, one to De la Hoya I felt he lost even though it was close, and the judges split in that fight. The other fight was with the Hispanic guy, I just forgot his name, but I felt Floyd lost that too. Floyd was amazing and is of the best defensive fighters ever, along with Pernell Whitaker, and a fight between those two would have been perfect.

Sugar Ray....was the man. Hitman had his time in the spotlight. Not as tall as he looks. 5'9....well..the nurse recently put me at 5'8 plus....Met Hearns in the restroom at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. 96....Came in the restroom I had to clean. He's cool....down to earth, etc. 🥊🥊
