Hello guys, back after a long time. I recently flew onboard Air India B787-8 on a domestic route from Delhi to Mumbai, the flight was a mixture of good and disappointing things. As usual, Air India once again proved that they have one of the best set of crews. Fantastic!
The 787, VT-ANV is a 7yrs old aircraft and it seems that AI has kept the aircraft in a good shape. In the video, you'll see a few negative things that still need some attention from Air India. For the price paid, I feel the flight was good and I'd recommend you to fly with AI.

Have flown Air India...many times over the years..( literally in all classes of service).and have only praise for them...have ...touch wood...never had a bad experience with the crew...... they've always been polite and efficient...and the catering on board has always been super..after becoming a private entity one supposses things might get even better...in terms of aircraft maintenance/ new aircraft purchases...and overall service on ground and in the air.....Air India is going to slowly but surely come back to it's old Glory days... The new management has made this thier mission...it just needs some time...things don't happen overnight....very nice trip report... thanks for sharing and good luck....!!!

Excellent video! I have flown with several Indian airlines and I have always had a soft spot for Air India. And just in case some of you are not aware, a complimentary meal in Economy Class is unheard of in Europe and North America on a domestic flight. You need to pay if you want anything more than Coffee Tea or Water. I look forward to my next opportunity to fly Air India. FLY THE FLAG!

Very good vlog of your flight. The interior is clean but the monitor, remote control and single USB socket is outdated now. A wide touchscreen monitor in economy class is evident on refurbished aircraft interiors. I recently flew by Gulf Air. How are the Air India cabin crew?

Their 787s are used a lot and in my previous few flights I didn’t see clean cabins. Onboard this flight I found the cabin clean. Hence, surprisingly. We don’t necessarily need TATA to keep cabins clean.

Plaza Premium lounge doesn’t look premium in comparison to Amex lounge. In fact the Adani Lounge in Mumbai is leaps ahead in luxury and service.

Lucky u still get meals even on such short trip, here in North America we don’t get any meals served, I travel from Canada to America, sometimes 5/6/7 hours not even cookies, u get a glass of water or if lucky some pop, u can buy expensive snacks if u want.

The whole fleet needs cosmetic upgradation. Look at that: the fabric on the seats look tired. Glad that remote control can stay alongside the screen in your flight. On my previous flight some screens were not working. My remote could not stay in the place ,it was hanging with its cable. Can't complain much after all it is Air India.

I had same issues with the interactive map and seeing movies while I was travelling from Toronto to Delhi back in April. The service was excellent and I had downloaded movies on my phone to pass time. It would take time for them to recover.

IFE is essential on all flights, both domestic and international. It doesn't cost much to ensure this facility.

For your information, Air India have already installed IFEs onboard their wide body fleet. They don’t have to separately buy it. If it’s already installed onboard their B787s and B777s why not keep them functional?

We travelled two weeks ago Toronto to Delhi via Air India I didn't see any improvement at all. Seats were old with moving hand rest. I will never step into Air India plane again.

Bhai unhone takeover kiya hi. Meko lagta nahi itne jaldi changes karenge plane me. Ab bas itna baaki hi. Ki kya ye company loss se recover kar pati hi aur badme profit me ja pati hi ya nahi. Bcoz the losses are huge.
