As if they couldn't install 2 struts to help lift those 'lightweight' covers and install a ratcheting strap on the bottom to pull them together instead of using a open box wrench! Now i know why planes are delayed so often.. (not because of the mechs but because of the time it takes to open and close those covers!)

Even though it is just a 'lowly' fuel filter, it is a precision piece of manufactured equipment. Fascinating to see a close up view of a state of the art jet engine. The whole engine looks immaculately clean and each part looks like a piece of art in itself. I am amazed that even the adjustable strap under the nacelle cover has a specially made stowage position, tightened in place to prevent movement.....absolutely brilliant. I've worked on large diesel engines in my life and the difference between those and this clinical environment is staggering. We overlook these day to day necessities in our impatient rush to fly between cities! Well done for doing a great job and keeping us safe. Look forward to more videos.

@@zeto.r In Vancouver we (heavy equip/diesel truck techs) look at all the Avtechs with a little bit of pity. Only a few years ago they were considered 'unskilled labour.' They go through just as much schooling as I did but have limited job opportunities & the pay is less than half of what I can make fixing fleet recycling trucks & equipment. Sure you can one day work on your own but that means you're probably not fixing anything larger than a King Air 90 - and thats pushing it. If you want to work on jets it's either the military or an employer who calls you 'unskilled'. It sucks - I worked in aviation for 3 years in college & it's the 2nd last area of mechanics I'd recommend to a young person in my area. @@tidan4575 Salt corrosion isn't unique to boats though, it affects cars quite severely in areas that use chloride salts to melt snow. Curious to know the price of the O ring and filter. And the lifespan. Be safe my friend, people like you are the foundation of aviation.

Lifespan depends on fuel quality but I'm pretty sure it's changed by hours

Surprisingly it's easier than in some cars! you can see it is a well thought out and safe system, I will never need to change any, but thanks for the video😊

Great video. Mine is starting to choke when i overtaking other planes, and goes straight to the safe mode. Can you make a video of washing dpf, or egr valve?

Wow, thats a surprisingly small filter in comparison to the size of the engine. As a hobbyist mechanic, it's nice to see inside a different type of engine for a change. Thanks.

Great video! My A320 wasn’t starting this morning so I pulled the fuel filter off and replaced it as you have shown. Worked great! Once again I finally have a reliable vehicle.

I am surprised that there is not prescribed torque on tying the cap. Just done by hand. Interesting.

Can someone explain to me, the intervals of services? I am not sure after watch this video when is good to check my fuel filter in my A320.

I’m just hoping I can buy those fuel filters here in Albuquerque at Walmart in the auto section. Maybe Amazon. I’ll go for the aftermarket and save some money.
@zeto.r2 ай бұрын
well this filter cost around 4000€ so if you find one with certificate for this engine cheaper, well good for you. :-D

Wow, as an airline passenger and auto mechanic, it is amazing to see how similar the procedures are despite the size difference- How much time does it usually take to do this job? I imagine doing a filter change in a car or truck and having to bend down and stand back up a bunch of times, having to go around to the drivers seat to turn the key to prime the fuel pump, etc., except the driver's seat is way up there and takes five minutes to walk back and forth from... As a passenger, it makes me very concerned about the potential parallels between good versus bad auto mechanics and I just have massive respect for your work knowing you do the correct job! Very cool video, and the comments are hysterical.

Actually it is easy, just c-ducts are a bit time-consuming, the jet fuel passes through many checks so this kind of filter is enough
