I'm doing 2 flights business Q suite later this week. I really enjoy your reviews as I too use Heathrow. I also really enjoyed your economy review, as I live between Philippines and London, pay for my own flights, and I need to start to cut back a bit, so later this year it's economy. You put my mind at ease that at least it won't be torture, if not the premium experience of business. Take care.

Im flying Business class with them on Monday (Dec 4th) from Melbourne to Manchester, im in the Q Suites on the long 14hr stints from Melbourne to Doha and vice versa, im looking forward to it, never flown with Qatar before and only ever flew Business once before with Fin Air last year, it definitely makes a difference in the comfort and enjoyment of long haul travel.

We love Qatar and love flying them in business from Spain - We choose Madrid rather than BCN so as to get the Airbus A350 over the 787. The big variety in their business class offering is a problem though. Next trip to Philippines!

Yeah, A350 for sure the wiser choice I think. It’s a shake it’s such a mish mash of different cabins but overall, always a great service and experience. Love the Philippines, have an amazing trip!

I am never going to fly economy on flights that last more than 6 hours again. As a kid economy was good but as an adult it’s torture. Why can’t they remove some seats and make more space for everyone even if the tickets would cost 10% more? If you asked everyone they would all be willing to pay more

Haha, I’m with you on that front! Economy in that time since we were kids has of course declined greatly but it’s sadly consumer driven. The economy segment is incredibly price sensitive hence it’s been a bit of a race to the bottom in major markets of late, especially in Europe! For those wanting a little more, there is premium economy where if your lucky you can bag for a very small % uplift over economy. It can be double though so do feel your pain. The best we can do for now is think is to stick to the more premium economy carriers, like Qatar or emirates for example…

How would you recommend an aisle seat in J for a solo traveller? I'm flying out to Edinburgh on the 788 and have sadly stumbled across a near jam-packed flight, so only aisle seats available. A bit concerned about being too close to my neighbour, unintentional eye contact etc. Would you say that's a valid concern or is privacy basically the same in all seats? Love the review as always, great going!

Thanks so much! You know, I was thinking as I put this one together than an aisle seat really wouldn’t be that bad as the cabin is nice and open plus, you’ll notice with the window seats, the seat surrounds actually block the windows a lot so it’s not like a traditional window seat anyway. As for your neighbour, the middle seats seem set quite a way apart hence I don’t think that’ll be too much of an issue. So in summary, don’t worry too much 😊

there's a thin wall separation between aisle seats (that you can pull down if travelling as couple) but you would not see your neighbour unless you stand up. Except for that, it's basically the same mirrored window seat.

Hi, I just upgraded my flight from Dublin to Doha after getting a really good offer. I've never flown business before, and I'm far from a rich man. Are drinks and such complimentary on qatar business class flights? I don't want to get carried away and end up with a crazy bill being posted out haha

That’ll be an awesome first experience! The good news is, all the drinks and food are included onboard. Typically, lounge access also would be included in a business fare however, a number of airlines have started selling a ‘business basic’ type fare of late which doesn’t include some of those perks but they’ll tell you on the day no doubt. I flew both economy/sardine class and business class on Qatar. While I found business pretty much nice (nicer than etihad) and good food, I would pay more and travel Emirates economy class. The sardine class on Qatar is awful and the food is incredibly disappointing. Emirates, Swiss, Turkish, even Air China have better food in economy class.

I wanted to experience their Qsuites but I have been hearing how they always downgrade them to a non modern BC class and not sure if I wanna risk that lottery ticket. I wonder if Qatar will ever make more of their aircrafts with Qsuites or refurbish their old bc class

Yeah it’s a tricky one. Typically certain routes are quite safe, LHR on the 777 for example but there’s always the risk. For certain types like the 787 there’s just not the width to accommodate it but let’s see what happens with Q suite 2.0 due out in the coming years 😃

@@sevenofnine2233 only watch out is that Qatar love changing their kits unlike other airlines who tend to stick with them so goodness knows how long it’ll last. One thing to be sure of though, based on their record, they’ll always have something really nice!

British Airways left when I had 10 mins to boarding on my ticket, I had sprint from a connecting flight that was delayed and truly thought the sprinting, sweating and weaving through people through london heathrow terminals would all be worth it. Pls do tell your story, British Airways needs to be stopped

Those situations are really horrible for sure! Mine was around a late departing flight so knew it was going to be super tight for hours prior. Ran for ages to the gate between flights and arrived 10/15 mins prior to departure but they’d closed the flight sadly. Most frustrating element was that had they been communicating they’d have known I’d have been slightly late due to the connecting flight etc All took 3-4 hours to sort out but that’s the risk sadly with connecting flight, always adds an element of risk! 😅

Some of the 777’s are for sure looking pretty tatty. That said, most passengers will be more focussed on the cabin interior and how new that is. Ironically on the BA 777 in business you’ll currently have the best experience as that’s the one targeted for the club suite first. 787’s will sadly be last…
