How's this Gibson Explorer like guitar for $250? Westcreek Explorer

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these. First thing I'll do is drop in some Epiphone pickups that I already have here which I was originally going to install in a Chibson but I think they will suit better in one of those WC Revenge guitars.

To answer the title question. Yes. HAS guitars in UK made an explorer copy in mahogany wood with dot inlays on a rosewood fretboard for £250GBP. Only flaw is they’re very heavily lacquered.

Use very fine sandpaper like 1000 grit and sand some of it down and polish it up it should be fine it won't leave any scratches behind if you use the fine stuff. I don't know it's just an idea if you don't like the lacquer on there I'm kinda the same way I don't really like it either.

isn't it kind of suspicious that a MAHOGANY body guitar with a ROSEWOOD fretboard is under 250$? you only find these specs in higher end guitars that are at LEAST 500$ or more

Possibly, but that'd be too easy to find out. Mahogany has a very distinct grain pattern. All anyone would have to do is scrape some finish off to reveal it. However, I get what you're saying. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it!

Unfortunately, no. It's way too weird/different of a shape. I have a video of another WestCreek coming that has a modern look with 2 humbuckers. It's not as cool looking, if you're into Explorers specifically. Thanks for asking a great question!

Don't really care for the noise coming from those cheap humbucker pick ups. But other than that I would say that just for the looks alone and the cool paint job is worth at least 250$.

@@MotorRoseMusic a friend, unfortunately deceased now, had an Ibenez Destoyer that I drooled over, looks more similar to that than an Explorer…. He pawned it for $300. *I* would’ve paid him for it ( at the time - mid 80’s) 😢

Does it tilt forward from where the strap button is?

Wow! Great question! I had to run upstairs and grab the guitar to understand what you were asking. Yes, it does tilt forward a bit. I never noticed, but it's subtle. I actually turn the strap on the top button backwards _after_ I put the strap on. It seems to make it fit or lay better - if that makes sense. I appreciate the question and you watching. It never occurred to me that it does tilt the body forward a bit. I don't find it uncomfortable, as I didn't notice until you asked.
