I bought the pink one a few weeks ago for 169.00 from amazon and I was pleasantly pleased, intonation was spot on. I replaced the strings and installed CTS 500k pots and upgraded the capacitor as well and also put a Lollar P90 pickup in it. Its a great bargain guitar that you can have fun modifying it as i did. I did polish the frets and cleaned and oiled the fretboard. So!!! I found a TV Yellow one on Reverb with a parts caster tele for 150.00 bucks a two for one price type thing . so now I have a few fun project guitars to mess with

I bought two Westcreek Revenge guitars. One needed a fret polish and one had a couple of tiny tiny finish bubble. The QC could use a little more time to go over them. Otherwise, im totally happy with them and i think Westcreek is an awesome little company. Trying to get them to do a firebird style guitar. They have a KZbin channel. I actually want one of each of their guitars now.

Great comparison video. I gave up buying expensive instruments. Two years ago I bought a $999 carbon fiber Klos ukulele. It had problems and was exchanged. The second one was worse. They refunded my money and paid for return shipping both times. Klos has integrity. This will probably be my next guitar. I bought a Harley Benton SC Junior and didn't play it much for three months because I was busy. It needed some adjustments. When I got to it, the buzz couldn't be adjusted out of it. It turned out that the set neck was installed incorrectly. Thomann asked for photos, then a video, then for an estimate to fix it at a local shop. Without any more information, other than the job would cost as much or more than the guitar, suddenly they claimed that humidity had warped the neck and it wouldn't be covered under their 3 year warranty. The guitar had been kept indoors the entire time in a climate controlled environment. Only the fret board was exposed wood. The rest of the guitar was painted. So there is no way that a neck could warp in that place, but that wasn't the problem. A single cut single pickup guitar was my dream guitar. Thomann sold a paperweight to me for about $225 (including shipping). I'll never buy from them again, and I ask that nobody else buy from them. They have no integrity. Almost two years later it was sold to a guy who felt that he could fix it. I got $150 for it. DON'T BUY FROM THOMANN! If you get a guitar via the internet, fully examine it and adjust it within the return period so that you won't get stuck with a paperweight.

Excellent comparison! I got one of the Westcreek DCs in bright white and it is a fantastic little guitar! I was expecting to replace the pickup but no, the stock pickup sounds great. I did choose to change the bridge as I don't like the Badass style bridges on my Juniors, the saddles are too tall and sharp IMO. One word of caution, my guitar wouldn't intonate with the Pigtail style bridge but it did with the Wilkinson GTB bridge. Not sure if my guitar's bridge posts were drilled a little too far back from the pickup or what. The Wilkinson bridge intonated well with room to spare thankfully!

The gibson sounded a little more ballsy woody, but that’s not necessarily an advantage, it’s a matter of taste. What will really make the difference is time. With cheap accessories, sooner or later you will have to change them (tuners, etc...). This isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Whether the instrument is worth it, time will tell.

Totally, and if you EQ’d tge Westcreek a bit differently (turn down the tone to make it darker and turn up the upper-mids) they’d sound even closer. A Gibson double-cut is like 6,000 at the moment compared to $250 for the Westcreek. Insane.

Clipping your interface preamps? I'm skittish about pulling the trigger on the "affordables" lately, I've got Firefly PTSD. Westcreek might have an advantage concentrating on a few models instead of Firefly's all you can eat guitar buffet thing. Still... That Westcreek bridge is a copy of a Leo Quan Badass bridge, the original is 2/3s the price of the complete guitar. It's very tempting tho, cross between a Jr. and an Epi Olympic...

Very good review. I got mine with a 25 dollar coupon. Before tax came out to 144 dollars. Couldn't be happier with the value for the money. Only mod I will do is make a pickup spacer that follows the taper of the neck in relation to the body. The neck kicks back slightly, and the strings lay at an angle over the pickup... like my epiphone les paul special. My epiphone les paul jr humbcker has a flatter neck with less kickback. Anyone out there making tapered dogear spacers?

You could use an oversized one and taper it with a belt sander, I'm not aware of anyone who makes a tapered...

So I run the biggest septic tank cleaning business in Texas. My mom and dad were first cousins. I have a 83 IQ and am considered by my friends to be the " smart one". I can't play a lick and if you told me Happy Birthday was a I, V, I, IV progression I'd just stare at ya like a moron but my friends just ain't impressed with no sub 200$ guitar a hangin' on my wall. It doesn't declare that I am the best septic tank professional in the state, now does it? ...but that purdy Gibson say's to everyone, I am the most financially successful septic tank professional in the county. That's why I choose Gibson!
