Things in Venezuela have changed dramatically .....After being there for a few weeks a month ago, I felt completely safe walking and driving everywhere, and things have improved a lot in many other ways. If María Corina Machado is somehow able to become president, the Venezuelan economy will take off like a rocket and Venezuela could be one of the best countries in the world.

Only Maria Corina Machado (Controlled opposition) is not that good for Venezuela, she is a puppet of the West and realy bad for Venezuela. She is the one who give the country away for her own benefits. Best example is the case about British Guyana and the Essequibo which belong to Venezuela, she want to hand it over to the west, which is very bad and not honest. Basicly she sell Venezuela for her own benefits. I prefer Inaki Escariz. He is the real opposition and clean.

Don.t believe the western mainstream media. They all lie and put Venezuela allways in a bad spot. I won.t say it is perfect, but Venezuela is changing, Venezuela is recovering and the most places are quiet safe. It is a country worth to visit. When i speak for myself i love Venezuela with all my heart. Love to come there.

I live in Bogota, Colombia. A lot of local people from Bogota, and Colombia in general, shit on Venezuela how it is "unsafe", "never go there", and similar bad reputation stuff - but based on your video and some experiences I've heard from a friend who stayed in Caracas for a month - it is literally the same as in Colombia; especially in a large city like Bogota. Safe during the day, sometimes risk of pickpockets, during the night it gets more risky depending in what "estrato" you live in. Lots of homeless people recycling and begging for money on the streets as well. People love to blame the influx of Venezuleans for these problems here, but from what I know from older generation - it has always been like this, it's just that the people always like to blame others for their problems. Thank you for sharing an insightful video - I really enjoy your content man; good luck with your travels and with your learnings. Latam can be a sketchy place, but it is an immensely beautiful and passionate part of the world ridden with many differences and contrastswhich you can see at every step.

bro, always in the history colombia was more unsafe than Venezuela hahaha. Colombians are know here in Venezuela as the founders of several slums in Venezuela, and the greatest slum in Caracas, called Petare. Since 70s when Venezuela was great economically and they were bad, so many colombians came to venezuela and they brought at lot of their "malandro" (thug) culture, like sicarios (hitmen), prepagos (pay on prostitutes), secuestros express (fast kidnapping), their music vallenato. They was a big group like 5 millions of colombians were in Venezuela back in the 2000s. Now, they talk like they are saints and the venezuelans are the devils, because this venezuelan crisis. The new generation of venezuelans with the colombian culture and with Chavista mentalitty are what they are looking right now, and sure the roles have changed, right now is the venezuelans going to Colombia, and some of these are doing bad things... but in overall, Colombia was/is unsafer, come on, they are the creator of narco bands or carteles.

I lived in Venezuela on and off for twenty years and watching the video it looks totally different.... There's a lot less noise and traffic for starters.....going back a few years, if you had tried to cycle from Caracas to Maracaibo or San Cristobal you would've been lucky to get five kilometres out of the city before being hit by a truck or robbed and given a good beating or worse. In the video Caracas has the feeling of a ghost town.....

@@XploreWithRoger it was an adventure every day. But, I was young then and very lucky. Today I'm getting old and my luck probably wouldn't be enough. I'll tell you a quick story from where you were in sabana grande in the video. I was walking through there one evening at around dusk and there was a big crowd looking towards a panadaria.....I asked someone what was going on and it turned out that the malandros had tried to rob it and they had taken the owners hostage. At that moment shots rang out from inside the panadaria and people in the crowd dived for cover. A couple of minutes later everyone was back in position to watch the entertainment! Life was really real and poor people had no money for any entertainment besides the life in front of them......I was also in plaza francia when there was a massacre there under Chavez and also in macuto when the torrential rain brought down the mountain and caused the ensuing la guaira disaster. It's like another lifetime and hard to believe all that happened in those times. That's what I love about south America and Venezuela in particular, there are adventures everywhere and life is real, although sometimes very brutal. The thing I loved most was to spend time on Margarita, it used to be a paradise, although a little dangerous. Please be careful yourself and stay safe!!

I have to call you out on one thing. You mention that you have to watch out like in any country. You are not the only one to say that, but I think it is false. Here in Canada, you can walk anywhere, even the worst section of a city, and not worry about safety. I was just in Korea and Japan, and I was able to wander at 2am in any neighbourhood. There just is no safety issues. So saying you need to watch out like any place is not true. There are plenty of places where safety is not even something to think about. Also, can you speak to the issue that you have to worry about the police in Venezuela? People are often detained by police for no reason and have to pay them to get free. The fact that you can't trust the police is a bigger issue than there being high crime. I know of a person that was stuck at the Caracas airport for days, because the army or passport control made him get money wired from his country to Venezuela to pay them. They wouldn't let him go until he did.

Buenas noches.

Venezuela is a beautiful country has a lot of tourist potential, people let themselves be carried away by yellow people from the media and some people from other Latin American countries, they believe that there is no crime in their countries, which tells me about Mexico that there is daily crimes and Colombia has always been known about that, and the rest of the other countries, it makes me sad that people are not well informed, they only focus on Venezuela as the most dangerous country, there is danger everywhere, if that were the case Nobody would travel to Venezuela, look at the KZbinrs and other tourists who go there, don't be afraid Venezuela welcomes you with open arms, you just have to inform yourself, greetings

Every country has good and bad sides. A lot of countries in Latin America can be dangerous but that depends on the places you go to. I think Venezuela is no different than other countries in Latin America regarding safety.

Hi Roger, you talked in your video about taking much cash money because it’s not possible to get money from the bank. Can you explain this a little more, because if that’s true, I think that is a big reason not to go as a tourist. Because when that’s common everybody who has bad intention knows.
