My wife and I were working with safe ship moving services. We were expecting the movers to come in two days. We luckily caught these scammers just in time and just called and canceled. We previously called because things seemed sketchy and when asking questions, they put us on hold and hung up. Dirt bags.

Not only am I in the middle of a nightmare with them, my belongings, including my children’s baby movies and pictures, are being held hostage in an undisclosed location until I pay the ransom (which is tripling). The nightmare continues…

In addition to the video, we want to share some key tips to help you avoid falling victim to a moving scam: Do thorough research: Look for reputable moving companies with a proven track record of reliable service. Read multiple reviews from different sources and verify their credentials, including their license and insurance information. Get written estimates: Always request written estimates from moving companies and review them carefully. Make sure all charges, including any additional fees, are clearly stated in the estimate and ask for clarification if anything is unclear. Ask for references: Request references from previous customers to get a better understanding of the company's reliability and professionalism. Contact these references and ask about their experiences with the company. Beware of red flags: Be cautious of moving companies that ask for a large deposit upfront, have unprofessional or unmarked vehicles, or lack a physical address. These can be signs of a potential scam. Get a written contract: Once you have selected a moving company, make sure to get a written contract that includes all the details of the move, including the pickup and delivery dates, the estimated cost, and the terms and conditions of the service. Stay vigilant during the move: Keep an eye on the movers as they handle your belongings and report any issues immediately. Take inventory of your items before and after the move to ensure that nothing is lost or damaged. Moving scams are unfortunately common, and Itoro and I learned this the hard way. It amazes me how some companies do not take accountability and pass their shortcomings to others. The one thing am almost sure of is that they will move on and change their name after so many bad reviews and continue to conduct business the same way. What a shame!!!!

They lied to us, stole from us, delayed our delivery for 20 days, ignored our emails, and were so rude on the phone! They are liars and scammers! I'm sorry you had to go through that, too. I called them and two others just to get a quote. This guy got on the phone and started the hardest sell ever. I told him 4 times I just wanted a quote but he was insisting I pick them immediately. He would not listen to me and just asked a 1000 questions. I finally said I have to go. He did not want me to get other quotes. (His quote was very high)After 30-40min I said bye again and hung up. The next day this same guy called and I said I already had taken care of it. Which I had. He said how did you take care of it? Knowing he was going to hard sell me again I just said thanks and goodbye and hung up. Then he called me back 3 times and I declined the calls then blocked him! Scary!

Upon delivery they tried to hand me a box that wasn’t mine, at the time I did not make the connection that a box on my end was missing … PURE FRAUDSTER SCAMMERS… They will quote you anything just to hook you, the truckers they hire are pretty much independent who get contracted by another company, so it’s almost like you are hiring TWO broker moving companies. I’ve read reviews of where they would hold your property hostage unless you pay them extra….

We did! And while it wasn’t the greatest experience and a few things were banged up, we consider ourselves lucky compared to others. However, the main reason we are angry is that, like many others, they completely scammed us out of thousands of dollars.

I had the same experience. They lie and over charge. I was charged $4,700 OVER my quote of $3,332. Someone needs to shut them down! Thank you for posting. I wish I saw this prior to my move. Good luck to you.

Sounds fake. I've never had a move or major delivery where the drivers didn't keep in touch with me. And I've moved 30+ times.

Does anyone have advice on how to track your stuff once its picked up? They packed up my sisters things the 4th of june, they said 2-10 days to be delivered, its now 2 weeks and no one knows where the truck is! Can we go and physically remove our things from the truck if we can find the warehouse in denver? They wont tell is where the warehouse!

I’m 100% sure they have no idea where the warehouse is located. These guys are trash. They randomly just call a bunch of guys to park your things in a warehouse. Sadly, people are still falling for these scams. Too bad. I would ask them to tell you the people they contacted to ship the stuff to the warehouse. Also, I’m so sorry for all this.

They are currently doing this with my stuff as well. It has been over a month and they keep giving me the run around and are constantly pushing the date back. They have everything I own and will not bring me my belongings. We have called them every single day and they keep pushing the date back with one excuse after another.

I'm sorry to hear about the constant delays and runaround-that's extremely frustrating. It might be worthwhile to file a consumer complaint with the Florida Attorney General. The more people who file, the greater the pressure on them to address these issues. We don't need a huge number of complaints to gain some traction; even a few can make a significant difference. Have you considered taking this step?

Dont listen to these people. Nobody scammed them. This is the normal process in the moving industry set up by the DOT. The customers always want to blame someone else because they failed to read their estimate. Not only that but every moving is required to have the customer sign the bill of lading prior to pick up to inform them of who their motor carrier is.

Safe ship provides you with terms prior to your move and you clearly couldn’t afford this luxury service.I had a great experience with them and paid them 10k to move and pack my stuff. They are not a moving company, they are brokers and you didn’t have any understanding of that at all. 3k for them to pack all of that stuff and take it across state lines? 😂 I’d be embarrassed to make a video like this to the public.

Slavery was abolished many centuries ago, you should be embarrassed to think you can get a whole truck, movers, and packing for cheap. You want luxury, Increase your earnings. Very simple.
