@@peteg9011 There have been no good controlled studies that prove this! I only say this because I've eaten tons of tuna and sardines my entire life and I'm almost 60 years old and don't have any health issues whatsoever....

I thought that packing sardines 🐟 in the cans was fully automated but did not realize it takes a lot of human labor to get it done. Working that assembly line from cutting off the sardines’ 🐟 heads to placing the vegetables in the cans is labor intensive. Got to give credit to the assembly workers because they get the job done; I know I could not do that repetitive work day in day out.

I used to work on an assembly line and it was the worst job I've ever had. Never again. It literally felt like slave labor.

I always thought that a female sardine would lay eggs and a male sardine would fertilize the eggs and the eggs would hatch, that was were sardines came from. You learn something new everyday.

For those who have not tried, sardines, mackerel and herring are delicious raw, with some dipping sauces and spices. Just as long as they are sushi fresh.

It's incredible, I love watching the production processes, it shows how much we have made technological progress. But a simple question comes to mind, I wonder if workers in sardine or tuna processing plants ever eat canned fish?) Because they come into contact with it almost every single day)

I love sardines! My grandpa was a meat packer in OKC,OK in the 50s and 60s...i grew up eatin sardines and canned oysters just as a change from beef..OKC exports more beef than any state

I have them on my shelf, had a can yesterday. High in Omega 3's. I've heard the healthiest thing you can buy on a stores shelf is sardines.

Sardine. Sprinkle chives, olive oil, sea salt crystals, lemon juice and capers. A nice baguet. That is how I enjoy sardines. Wonderful.

I tried sardines 5 years ago, it was super; dont know which company I got it from but salty tasty with chees with bread mayonaise.... 5 years later I got it and they were tasteless, what a shame...

I have never searched for 'fancy' sardines in the US, and have always had good experiences with the cheap stuff I get for $1. I do try to get the stuff imported from Thailand or Morocco. My only pet peeve is I can get the sardines packed in tomato sauce, or packed in hot sauce, but never both.

I worked factory cut them then trucked them to the factory 1 place I delivered downeast Maine still cut them with scissors old place. Also hauled finished from Canada to California and Florida

I worked prospect harbor me factory then trucked the fish. In in tankers I delivered bath and Belfast to sometimes down by Canadian border. Then Brunswick sardines from Canada to 3verywhere in USA. Waste fish from Maine to Canada nb. And nova Scotia for cat or dog food. Hauled fish meal from Canada to few usa . I don't lie

I like them as well si many think they are not good or healthy but just as good sources of omega 3 and the plains in most cases are in an olive or vegetable oil. Although I also like the ones in Tomato sauce. Also Although have not ate in years theones in mustard. Can remember my dad eating many of can of sardines. He would a lot of times get a can of regular and a sleeve of saltines and his,ever present bottle of Tabasco and here was lunch or late lunch snack

So these sardeans aren't gutted clean? What happens to the ones that fall out of the nets on to the deck. Are they ever picked up or just stepped on and trashed? If so what a waste!

I think you are confused or were drinking to excess. Potato chips are packed in air. Sardines are packed in some kind of liquid.

I must be really weird, for you see, if I thought a child of mine would have to spend their lives working on an assembly line doing mindless, mind-numbing work, I would never bring them into this world. I'm serious! Hour after hour, day after day, year after year, until your best years are all gone...and all this for lousy wages. Who would do that to a person?

Yes, my comment was designed to cause the millions of idiots on YT to trigger and respond to that Marvel comic myth. But ok, yes... exposing organic material to various forms of radiation, can be used to 'disinfect' it. Do people point at you and say you're too smart? I'm Soooo glad I found work that wasn't so mind numbing, I would of hurt myself at the job or drink myself into oblivean.... As the porposies said in "Hichhikers Guide to the Universe" thanks for the fish... Had a girlfriend in college that bought sardines , just to see me eat them....
