Just because a smaller fish or non targeted species is caught doesnt mean they are killed. We return all small and/or unsellable animals back to the water. Fishermen care as much if not more for the environment and understand it more than half environmentalists.

by the time these are returned back they are dead!! so there is literally no difference between returning them dead or using them for something else

Around 90% of bi-caught sharks die soon after being caught whether released or not

Conservation and food production MUST be working hand-in-hand... By lowering food production when the human population is growing might kill the precious food source and possibly reducing the livelihood of the fishermen, while unsustainable catch might bring us a grim future for lack of ecological stability... A very tricky issue, worth of a very serious discussion between scientist, fishermen, inventors, and conservationist to bridge the gap...

The human population is going to Plateau soon, so it doesn’t really matter about the current food production
