CAN ANYONEPLEASEHELP!?!?! Ok so with a ar-15 p80 in 556 and when the trigger goes forward it doesn't release from the first catch(hook) so the hammer is unabletobe released by pullingthetrigger... so its not together yet but the trigger assembly is in and when the hammer is pushed down it hooks but you either have to push the trigger forward a very small amount and it releases and resets allowing the hammer to drop when the trigger is pulled... it also works if the selector switch is moved from fire to right around half way to safe. At that point it releases resetting then you put the selector back on fire and it is able to fire...it only has to go half way not all the way to safe. this happens every time... so should be working correct? Or does the upper have to be on for it to work properly? Some people said they had this problem because of a small burr on the hook so it wouldn't reset until they sanded it down smooth. don't think that is the problem because it's already been sanded it down... does ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS AT ALL? PLEASE LET ME KNOW... Thought about getting a drop in style trigger but they're a little expensive right now. Not understanding why what is already here won't work... EVERYTHING was picked up at the same time from the same person and there was no shortage of people getting the same thing and MANY were coming back after a prior purchase not just first time buyers! Asking around everyone had nothing but good things to say about their prior purchases/builds. Please if anyone can help it would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!!

Just an FYI on terminology: 1) That "hook" that holds the hammer back on semi-auto mode is called a disconnect. 2) That piece that holds the hammer back on full-auto mode is called an auto sear

Though I appreciate the effort, it drives me nuts when there’s a misrepresentation of what the parts are called and their functions. I’m not much of an AK guy but I understand the AK trigger (Semi and Auto).

I'm not sure why the disconnect needs to pivot independently of the trigger and sear.
@theKashConnoisseur2 жыл бұрын
@@smorrow If the disconnect's rotation was locked to the trigger's rotation, it wouldn't be able to catch the hammer to allow semi auto firing. And the auto sear rotates independently to restrict the hammer from falling until the bolt is fully in lockup, to prevent hammer follows or out of battery detonations.

Thats pretty cool that you actually used a very rare (in the M16 / M4 platform) 4 way trigger group with Safe, Semi, Auto and Burst. Actually this is the Colt design with Auto being the first selection off of safe in the position Semi usually is. Safe 9 o'clock, Auto 12 o'clock, Semi 3 o'clock, Burst 6 o'clock. The DPMS aftermarket version kept semi and auto in the normal places. You can buy safe, semi, auto and safe, semi, burst trigger kits for under $150 but these 4 way kits are usually $500 plus from being so rare. Too bad the 4 way kits suck in real world use because it makes the trigger pull in auto super heavy since you're pulling against both disconnectors being depressed. This is why they arent popular and hence rare.

what if we remove the bend on the bolt which disengages the lever then can we convert an auto ak47 into a semi auto even if we select it to auto mode ? i'm talking about removing the downward bend part on the bolt which disengages the lever when the bolt is closed at 6:20 . I hope you understand me.
@MrRangiku014 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately if you remove the "bend" it will prevent the lever from being pulled forward to disengage from the hammer essentially rendering the firearm inoperable and require you to have to replace the bolt. If what I see is correct at 7:08, you would have to file the back of the seer (rear hook) flush with the back of the trigger to make it impossible for the weapon to achieve full auto making it essentially safe/semi/semi instead of safe/auto/semi.
@KK-px4hh4 жыл бұрын
@@MrRangiku01 thank you for making it clear for me. Ak47 is clearly can't be converted to semi auto just by filing off the bolt. I have another question about m4a1. What if I place a semi auto bolt in a fully automatic m4? Will it not stop the fully auto mode to work? Bcz semi auto bolt will not disengage the auto sear and the hammer will not be released in auto mode. I can have a separate full auto bolt if I want to shoot in auto mode. Otherwise just keep the semi auto bolt in the gun to keep it as a semi auto gun. In my country laws are not that strict and if this thing works I can have two bolts.
@tomacton67184 жыл бұрын
@@KK-px4hh it would be less expensive to replace the full auto safety with one that's semi auto only. when installed, the semi safety will not disengage the disconnector from its primary purpose even when flipped to the auto position. as a result, the auto sear never gets involved in the firing cycle and no wear and tear on receiver's pin hole nor the auto sear assembly. the pistol grip should be removed to avoid stress damage to the receiver via the safety detent.
@KK-px4hh4 жыл бұрын
@@tomacton6718 If it works then this is the best and cheapest option i guess Bcz an extra m4 bolt will cost a lot.

What if we remove the hook for the semi? Does it make it into full auto if theres nothing holding the hammer back?
@Proven884 жыл бұрын
Is there something that prevents people from modifying an AK from being full auto? Going by this animation, the only thing it would take would be filing down a portion of the safety selector switch so that it only engages the disconnect rather than the trigger. I don't have an AK to look at, but the hammer on my AR-15 is cut short preventing anyone from putting a notch in the back of it for an auto-sear to catch, thereby preventing it from being easily modified to full auto.
@Proven884 жыл бұрын
It looks like the tail on the disconnect that would normally interact with the selector switch lever is missing on off-the-shelf AK's
@poppabear92794 жыл бұрын
Well, you’re missing a lot. Normal rifles, don’t have the 3rd pin holes required. You can’t just file a safety notch, because the main pieces for FA are not even installed in most rifles. You can’t just add a full auto hammer with the notch to your rifle and it’s suddenly working. All of these parts, require a 3rd hole to be drilled in the receiver and the parts added. You can buy the parts online easy to convert, but if you drill the 3rd hole in your receiver without proper paperwork, tax stamp, 07/02 FFL or an SOT permit, it’s a felony. But creating a full auto by just filing something down is a myth. The actual mechanical pieces are missing to even do it. Anything else, and you’ll have issues with the bad guys. The NFA needs to be abolished, but with our Current political climate In the US, we will never elect lawmakers who will be pro gun enough to undo the damage. It really sucks. Also, with the psychotic lunatics who’ve been shooting people up, we will never regain our rights to full unhindered 2nd amendment rights. I’m the type, that I believe if you’re rich and responsible enough, you should be able to get an M1A1 Abrams tank or a fully loaded F15 Strike Eagle fighter jet. Our founding fathers didn’t put a limit on our second amendment. I only draw the line at weapons of mass destruction. I believe chemical and germ warfare, as well as nuclear technology should be eliminated worldwide. Responsible, upstanding American citizens should own everything our military owns

No you need to install the auto sear. Otherwise you would just have hammer follows which would essentially render the firearm useless
@zackgibson33898 ай бұрын
This is also referred to as "drilling the 3rd pin" and according to the atf whether or not you have installed an auto sear or even own one, the moment that the 3rd pin is drilled on the receiver you are in possession of a machine gun. Highly HIGHLY illegal. 10 years and 250k dollar fine. Not even remotely close to being worth it. Save up 30k for a pre 86 machine gun, get an FLL with a class 3 SOT license. Or move to a 3rd world country with no gun laws.

Great video! I have a question, Does the burst ratchet always reset even if only 1 or 2 rounds we're fired?, and what ensures 3 rounds will fire? (say you only tap the trigger, will only one or two rounds fire, then the next burst only be 1 or 2? or does the spring always reset the ratchet wheel? it seems to me from the animation the only thing keeping the burst going is trigger pull and also the ratchet wheel is always trying to reset against the the hook.(meaning it will always fire 3 rounds as long as you hold down the trigger????). Please Help Me clear this up, thanks again!

Just imagine if an engineer had designed a similar system back during the civil war era rather than the hand cranked multi barreled gatling gun. Ironically the gatling used a very complex arrangement of cams, gears, bolts, and components to make it all function in unison. You would think that designers back in those days would have grasped the concept of a single barreled locking bolt mechanism that employed an auto sear. If a country had done so back during those times and could have mass produced it - they would have undoubtedly owned the entire planet as no other military would have had any chance against such a weapon
@adeladd76383 жыл бұрын
In the mid 1800s they did not have the ability to make parts to the tolerances required by modern firearms,that's why the Gatling had a multi-barrell design,based on a seed drill, and would jam if cranked too fast.
@abcdefghijkl1234543 жыл бұрын
making a single barrel repeating firearm with black powder as a propellant is not feasible, the barrel would foul too fast. one of the reasons gatlings can work is that they split the fouling between several barrels.
@charleswittmer2477 Жыл бұрын
