Just installed in a Century Arms Wasr 10. Had to install the roll pin and file it down. Rivet was low enough on trigger guard. So I didn’t have to file it down. One video show where you had to file the trigger hook on a Wasr. Other wise it would hit the bolt carrier. But mine had clearance. Wish now I had spent more. And bought the model above this one. Would have had less travel. But I’m happy enough to keep it.

It's absurd to me that no other AKT installation tutorial covers removal of the pre-installed trigger... Fucking wild to me.
@Thoroughly_Wet2 жыл бұрын
It's because of 922r compliance. "It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes." Basically foreign rifles and shotguns are prohibited from import into the U.S. and assembling those firearms using imported parts is also prohibited. Compliance is usually done with a magazine made in the US, or small bits such as springs or triggers. most aks on the market up until now we're imported parts kits so you "wouldn't" have had a trigger already installed
@CharlieMikeNS2 жыл бұрын
@@Thoroughly_Wet I'm familiar with 922r. Have you ever seen an AK on the shelf being sold without a trigger? I'm talking about showing the removal of the trigger that came in the gun, or the trigger that was in the gun before the AKT. Most people installing aftermarket triggers are replacing the trigger that came with the gun, and I had a little trouble getting the retaining plate out of my AK and wanted to see the proper technique.
@Kyle-si8yw10 күн бұрын
The wild thing is that someone needs a video to pull 2 pins to remove a hammer and a trigger with a spring connecting them. Its super obvious just by looking at it. There are no screw or nuts or bolts or Allen's. Just relieve tension and push the pins out.

A lot of ak trigger hammers need to be reprofiled including the ALG hammer . in order to prevent the bolt carrier tail from deforming. Best way to prevent this is to sand or file down the hammer’s angled edges and smooth it out to an rounded hammer. Next is polishing the hammer with some white and green rouge, oil it and whallaa. A great smooth hammer that’s healthy for the bolt carrier and tail.

We had a bit of trouble stabilizing the trigger with he spring so my friend Mike Rowe of Enfield, Illinois used his ingenuity and a thin wire to hold the trigger, spring and lower end together while we got the set pin in! The inventor of this trigger said the parts were separate in order to keep the trigger from wobbling.

Great video, I'm shocked that even ALG's own install video is not as good. ONLY thing I don't like about this trigger is that disconnector tail. it's a known source of annoyance to people. that extra long disconnector tails is NOT needed in a semi auto gun, and has been known to cause safety selector issue you saw happen in yours, as well as dent that stop rivet just underneath the tail (especially in bulgy guns) AND cause trigger slap. Most people I know shave that disconnector tail back 1/4 inch to alleviate those issues. Wish ALG would do this from the factory though
@fallout11163 жыл бұрын
This. There is no reason for an semiauto AK to have a tail on the dis connector, that is an artifact of the select fire FCG. It doesn't even exist on the Tapco G2 or Century RAK triggers, and can cause trigger slap issues (if it hits the rivet right underneath it).

I'd never swap an AK trigger. I've never shot an AK trigger so terrible to warrant such a gamble as changing the trigger and a very good chance to mismatch hardness of trigger and AK bolt & carrier and causing deformation of your rifle. AKs have pretty nice triggers generally by the rifles design. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I see it.
