Id be interested in whether the pandemic has changed you views at all about suburbia. I used to agree completely that the American city/suburbs commuter model was wasteful and inefficient. But I was very happy to be stuck in the suburbs if I was going to be working from home. More space for a home office; quiet streets and parks to get exercise; parklets attached to restaurants to eat outdoors. The city I commuted to, San Francisco, was completely hollowed out and remains a ghost town even now. I think people have permanently changed the way they work. And now that so many people drive electric cars, the environmental concerns of suburban living may be less acute. Thoughts?

Build affordable senior homes outside of the Bay area, past livermore/stockton. You are retired, go to somewhere more affordable.
