Why does the vegetable lack not worry anyone? I love the portion control and Tawra’s blunt honesty about being overweight. Hurts to hear the truth, but love that she is brave enough to say it. Would more veg, less processed food help autoimmune disease? Great video ladies

I started buying lactose free milk when my husband developed intolerance. While it is more expensive for a half gallon, it lasts waaaay longer than regular milk. I'm saving money in the long run.

I'm just under 4ft 11", My bone structure is very fine. Matter of fact I was told by my nurse practitioner, that I have bones like a bird. They are very strong, there's no problem with my bones. I'm 66 years old. And all my life people have skinny shamed me in one way or another. I have never had a medical personal shame me for who and what I am. My appetite has never been huge. I'm as healthy as I can be. I could live on $20 a week if I had to. I think your mom and I are very much alike. Love your KZbin. Thank you!!

Some of those comments are brutal 😂 We're all adults here. Jill can eat whatever she wants. She's not telling you to eat the same things in the same amounts 😅 enjoyed the video and found it helpful to visually see the portions. I could trim some of the amount I eat for sure!

I eat two meals a day no snacking. I saw little vegetables in her meals. I never buy candy. If someone gives me candy I would eat it. I cook mostly from scratch. Have fresh vegetables right now from my garden. I eat a variety of foods. I am 88 years old. Grandma Sue in central Indiana

Our budget is $100 a month each that's just at $23 a week. We eat a little more than Jill. It's totally doable.

I hate to be that person, but there is so much sugar I see here: the orange juice, the graham crackers, the marshmallows, the candy bars, cranberry sauce, dried apples, etc. You do know CFS is tied to Candida/sugar consumption? I just think there are inexpensive, healthier ways of eating that don’t feed your syndrome.

I’m sorry, but doctors say a lot of things that do not serve our health. What I am seeing here in the food shown is a LOT of sugar! I am not saying this to be negative and contrary, but because I’ve dealt with autoimmune issues for the past 15 years, and the best route to feeling better is to cut sugar. I know that’s not a palatable choice for many, but for me, it was much more doable than the endless pain and health issues.

An apple is an apple even dried and I have never heard of a diabetic not being able to eat an apple. Please make sure you have all your facts right plus I am not a diabetic so just because I don't eat a restricted diabetic diet doesn't mean it is a wrong diet for me. I also know about all the different things that are said to cause CFS and make it worse. Every few months they come out with something new and so far most have made no difference for me I am afraid.

I didn't realize that tomatoes, broccoli, eggs, roast, lettuce, nuts etc. had so much sugar in them. You might want to check your facts. Have been to so many doctors in the past few years and on a special study with the CDC and not one of them had a problem with my diet and all said it was perfect as a matter of fact have always said they were amazed how I was never lacking in any thing (vitamins, minerals etc.), not too much sugar, right amount of water intake etc. Oh and I have dealt with autoimmune issues for 35 yrs and have had doctors and pharmacists consult me about those issues for their patients.

My parents, eat like this too, vegetables, fish, fruit. They do eat some dark chocolate bars, they share. My daughter, makes them chocolate chips cookies once a month, for a treat. ❤

Tons of artificial garbage in these also. I went to buy my grand kids cheese crackers and looked at the ingredients and tossed them right back on the shelf. I can't even imagine what's in the candy bars. I agree, protein and green leafy veggies.

She’s on a budget and green leafy vegetables are expensive because they are trucked in. Back in the 50’s and 60’s when I was growing up we didn’t have green leafy vegetables all year round. In fact the only lettuce you could buy in the store back then was a head of iceberg. I wonder how we ever survived?

Women need 46 grams of protein a day. She DOES get that amount at least if not more every day. To save you doing the math here it is. Graham crackers - 4 grams protein Eggs- 14 grams protein Toast and egg - 9 grams protein Ham sandwich. 10 grams protein Tuna with egg- 12grams protein Bread 4 grams protein Tomato soup with cheese 7 grams protein Cheese 7 grams protein Payday candy bar 4 grams protein Pinwheels - 17 grams protein Cashews 5 grams protein Cottage cheese 12 grams protein Roast - 25 grams protein

I spend approximately $20.00 for a week. I found I can buy more at Dollar Store,except for fresh fruits or veggies. I found package of 2 round pizza for around $5.00 which is a splurge but it goes for 2 meals. Scrambled eggs are great for any meal. It is hard, but I am learning.

Light doesn't get through the cartons. In my experience the lighting on the full jugs of milk makes it sour faster. Light can't get through the board container 💚🌞

Honestly, it's a great idea to only eat until you are no longer hungry, not until you feel full. There's a significant difference in the amount of food.

Loving seeing what you eat in a week & that you keep your budget to around $20/week. I can't eat gluten or dairy, but we use rice for many of our meals which is cheap when we buy the big 5kg bag on half price & we have meat free nights alternate nights that also saves money, so lentils, beans, chickpeas or mushrooms on those nights for protein. Since watching your channel we've been saving even more than we were before! Had a treat day today for our wedding anniversary that cost more, but only happens on a special day! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

I dont eat so many ingredients that the only way I can eat fairly cheap is if I make all of my own food, and in all possible cases, grow it too. Its doable at times but gets exhausting.

I hate it when people who are overweight tell me I don’t eat enough but it’s healthy to get hungry and eat till full when visiting the USA I was shocked by the restaurant portions they are HUGE ! I would only eat breakfast and I was good till dinner time!

The milk in the container like Jill bought is not exposed to light and that makes it last longer. The regular containers were exposed to a lot of light in the grocery store shelves until they went to your refrigerator. I bet if you looked into the solid white jugs like Hood you would find they have better expiration dates too because they block out the light. Hope that helps with the date issue but i bet the milk will taste better too.

This is why I love watching you ladies, Very transparent and I am very grateful you make these kind of videos. For those that are saying her diet is too high in sugar, so what! She is happy and healthy other than CFS. In the areas that I live we see folks eat very healthy and die young from the stress. If we have to be careful with anything it’s the stress! My mom grew up very poor in another country and she always said that to them pesticides were god sent because it meant there would be more food for everyone. Most definitely we should try to eat healthier and less processed stuff but we should definitely not make it so complicated and stressful. God bless you ladies! Love your show😊❤

You are so right, if someone is overweight, they are eating too much for their needs. Plain and simple. Eat less, exercise more is and has always been the answer. People need to just stop dancing around that fact.

Exercise will tone the body, but it’s portion control that’s the secret to weight loss. People can exercise till the cows come home and not lose weight, but if people eat proportionally they don’t even have to exercise and the weight will come off.

Calories do depend on size and metabolism. I eat one meal a day then munch. I eat if hungry only. Summer a lot comes from the garden. I picked a few hundred tomatoes this week 😂. Making salsa and spaghetti sauce from it. Will start seed saving on what does real well. Free corn seed did great til a storm blew them down. Meat and veggies is my usual dinner. Avoid sugar due to gastritis unless it's garden berries. Fruit trees will take a few years. I make gooseberry juice I get so many.

that is great!!! I eat healthy for $50 a month for one, using whole grains, dry beans, pantry items and what is on sale at the store that week. I only buy meat that is put out for quick sale and usually is good for 2 more days before needing to be used or frozen, and I buy day old bread/freeze part of it

I believe you! I allow up to $200 a month for household cleaning products, soaps/lotions/shampoos/ect, makeup refills and food. I'm not that strict about what I buy and I RARELY spend the entire amount. I live in one of the most expensive places in the country too. It can be done! Not wasting and portion control are the essential elements!!

One pound bag of beans holds four cups of dry beans. One cup of dry beans cooked makes four or five servings . . . enough protein for a week's dinners. 10 pounds of potatoes gives enough starch for a month. Rice on sale gives many options. Salsa on sale to add to soups, chili, stirfry, baked beans, or pasta dishes. Vegetables with a long shelf life include squash, cauliflower, and cabbage. A cauliflower makes at least four meals . . . Aloo Gobi. . . so delicious.

I eat legumes for breakfast and lunch. And supper is something so light a soup or sweet potatoes. I don’t eat any sugar. I can do that because I’m eating a balanced diet.

I love this video! Jill reminds me of my sweet grandmom who has since passed. She was always thin and she ate things just like Jill. Small servings of pretzels as her snack. And serving size that is just sensible! Not like we eat today taking the chips bags with us as we go haha. She ate things like Left overs for lunch (she loved to use left over sautéed spinach on toasted Italian bread as her filling for a sandwich.) She also used lunch sized plates not huge plates. It's also so very easy to get eggs that are not being treated with this MRNA junk they want to pump into our meat supply. Now them pushing that out is a whole other thing for us to navigate while still staying in our budgets. God bless friends!

I stick to one meal(small ) a day and drink lots of fluids. Portions are key. I let myself have a cheat day every once in a while.

Jill is so adorable! These are great small meal ideas. I work out with weights and need to eat a lot throughout the day, so I like small meals like this. For breakfast I love to have one or two avocadoes on hand each week. I'll slice a little bit and add it on top of my eggs with salsa. You can make breakfast burritos with a tortilla or make a sandwich with bread. So healthy and filling.

We eat from pantry and sale items. A tip to keep veggies for up to 2 weeks or longer…wrap in foil. I have kept lettuce up to 2 weeks or longer.

I like making a fried egg with a slice of those (Kroger, not Kraft) singles on a toasted English muffin, for breakfast. Just like McDonald's if not better!

Wondering if you could do the same type of video but with other family members. For example as a fairly petite woman over 50 Jill’s calorie needs are less than half those of an active 18 year old man: it would be interesting to see the cost differences for different people.

Great point. Being an older woman is great for grocery bills: the only people with lower caloric requirements are children under 8. Most teens and younger adults would probably be pretty hungry if they were eating like Jill!

I bet Tawra has lots of fresh veggies during the growing season that she gives her Mom to supplement. It's only one weeks worth of food.i see her snacks or processed type foods are tiny amounts. She doing great has healthy meals plus a few treats . Most of us eat way too much . The candy is just snack size😊.

You did really good on your diet, I try to do like you do, and try to eat healthy, but I have to have like Oatmeal for breakfast, a sandwich for dinner I do have some snacks, like two small cookies at night, and some crackers and peanut butter at night. But I have to have coffee with milk. And Tea with sweetener.

I must be more active than I think I am lol I eat a lot and always have and always was under weight. Now, post menopausal, I have started to put on more weight. I don't eat breakfast. I have a light lunch most days and eat a very large supper. I usually have to have a snack or sandwich before bed. If I don't eat before bed, I wake up with a headache feeling miserable. My portions are large.

OK, so I just looked up recipe with cottage cheese and marshmallows and it pulled up quite a few, but Orange Fluff I think is the one I remember. Ambrosia Salad I don't think has the cottage cheese in it. Orange Fluff 8oz frozen whipped topping 3oz package orange gelatin mix 16oz 4% fat cottage cheese 14 oz mandarin oranges 1 cup mini marshmallows

If people would buy what is on sale you save money and will eat healthy. Example. When chicken is on sale I buy extra. Center cut pork chops were on sale. Bought 2 packages. Many vegetables and fruits were on sale. Have enough food for quite awhile. I saw a woman in the checkout this morning. She was very overweight and could hardly walk. The majority of her groceries were cookies, candy, and chips. Then some people complain about the food prices. She could have purchased healthy items instead. 😢

I don't drink milk, allergic but a friend with kids said that she had the same thing thing with it spoiling fast in the jugs. I think it's the light.

I know it is hard Susan. Couple of things that might help is to watch what you drink. I love hot tea but I like sugar in my tea so if I am craving something hot I will have a cup of coffee (with not sugar) than a cup of tea. I drink a lot of water. Also don't do extremes. Don't do all or nothing. I don't deprive myself of anything and because of that I don't crave anything. For example if I am wanting a cookie I get me a cookie but I will only have one cookie not 2-3. Another thing I do is I eat everything very slowly which makes it seem like I am eating more. Those are just a couple of things that might help. Oh and of course just start by cutting your portions by a little.

I think people were looking for suppers with a meat,vegetables and a bread or starch and a dessert because they were taught that that's what they need to eat at there meals by nutritionists and people don't look at the serving sizes and they like to mindlessly eat while watching tv or while driving etc. . People are looking for weeks or a following of Jill for a month to see what and how her meals change from week to week from what she has in her pantry and with what she buys on sale at the grocery store.Most people expect the full elaborate breakfast, dinners and suppers. There thinking big full plates with 2 vegetables/meat,bread starch and dessert washed down with some short of drink.People see these "hugh portion sizes" and fill the big 12inch plates of today's sizes from restaurants etc look at the plate and cup and glass sizes from the 40's and 50's everything was in proportion not supersized. People were taught value was in that super size instead it is a heart attack diabetic, and a mountain of health problems instead and the pharmaceutical companies richer and them sick and poorer but it's there choice.Alot of people also have came from household were there family filled these hugh plates up and they were made to completely clean there plates(clean plate club)that were the size for 2 or 3 grown adult people .that washe alot of grandmother's showed there love aswell was with there cooking. It's peoples choice.I know during the summer time when it's hot I really don't want to much food just something cold and hydrating and light.

Last I remember Janice bananas, lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes were all still considered veggies unless they have changed that and I haven't heard. All I know is that my doctors just shake their head at how healthy I am for someone my age.

We eat on an average of $75 per month per adult. We eat somewhat different foods than Jill does but we make the same monthly dollar amount work. Actually if Jill is eating on $20 per week that's $1040 per year. Our $75 per month is $900 per year.

Actually I rarely buy junk food and only pop once a year for a treat for my grandkids everything else I get is fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, milk, bread, eggs and can goods - all on sale.

We also spent about 20 (euros in this case) per person per week as a family of three. We live in Germany. This includes toilet paper, cosmetics, cleaning supplies and cat food for 1 cat. I do the same as you, keep a pantry stocked, only buy on sale to stock the pantry and "shop" out of my pantry during the week.

I work in retail (food industry) and the assistant manager told me our cookies are 2 servings. It's a long story as to why we were talking about servings. I always talk to my children about servings.

Jill and Tawra, I need to make you a menu of what we eat during a day or week. 2 adults and we eat very little. Today I decided to make 2 eggs with a slice of cheese on a hamburger bun, (It is a "richie buns from Sam's Club. (12 for $5) I ate half of it. It was too much. 1 egg with a bread is all I need. Hubby has coffee for breakfast. Lunch- we both took a salad. Lettuce $1.99 a head, with cuc and tom. from garden, onion-1/4 or less, and bacon bits from pantry (not sure of that price. bought on sale), dinner sloppy joes. Used the buns, 1 lb gr. beef $5 from cow we bought in February. We had salad and one sandwich each. Still more than 1/2 lb sloppy joe left. Still more than 1/2 head lettuce left. We can eat as 2 people on $20 a week. We just need to be wise with our shopping. Shop the sales, stock up and eat less. Love seeing you both

Just wondering Jill, do you have a growing area, Garden or Patio. Lettuce grows so quick in pots, $2 is ridiculous. You could even regrow shop bought Lettuce or Spring Onions. Plus Herbs, there's so many Vitamins & minerals in Herbs. Maybe Tawra grows some of these for you already. 🌱 TFS LOAD, take care & keep busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶

The milk expiration date may be a good distance in the future, but once you open it, it needs to be used within a certain number of days. You can't open the container and think it will then last to the expiration date printed. That's my understanding.
