Hello sir, while using the plate method? Do we need to give the messhing boundaries support system? After modeling my structure, the slabs, which are the plates, seem not to be designing

@Civil Nirman diaphragm is only provided when lateral loading provided in whatever knowledge I have, for gravity load if I provide plate it will it only tranfer load Or work as structural element in my model?

If we model as plate elements,load distribution of slab as per yield line theory or It behave as per slab stiffness and connection to the beam.

what about the staircase are you going to model using floor load + master node or plate load?
@CIVILNIRMAN2 жыл бұрын
we will make a short video on that too soon, generally we transfer staircase loading on respective beams in a building

Sir what is inplane and out of plane . Does it split level of same slab? Plz explain.

Parpendicular to length is out of plane

can be modeled ribbed slab in one direction using element plates ?
@CIVILNIRMAN4 жыл бұрын
yes we can do that, you need to go with meshing the plate elements along with beams

When and where we should use master slave command? We should assign master slave command only for wind load and EQ analysis??

Master Slave is a tool for providing diaphragm action of slab when we provide floor load option to apply slab load as floor load instead of creating plate elements In building, the floor and roof slabs have a very high stiffness for lateral movements. Modeling those slabs using elements would mean a large number of elements would be needed if there are many floors. To reduce the size of the model, the master-slave feature can be used to rigidly link the various joints of the respective floors for lateral displacement While the in plane stiffness of the slabs is considered, their bending stiffness is set to zero for the analysis. So, master-slave is a tool to create a smaller model by avoiding using hundreds of plate elements to represent the slabs in the structure. If you have already modeled the slab using plate elements, there is no need to use master-slave.

@@CIVILNIRMANDear sir., if there any cutout in slab how to specify that in master slave? And also,can we consider this diaphragm action for gravity load combination( like DL+LL). If we consider any reduction in column moments ??

@@sureshkumar-ji5kn as i mentioned earlier master slave is a tool to provide diaphragm action ,if you have cut out,you can use group option in floor load ,so that you can select only those close boundaries in a member group where you have slab , no change in master slave specifications.ultimately it is connecting your whole floor geometry (slave nodes) to master node for equal displacement in x-z plane
