very good how Sam insists on the details at 10:00. That's what most podcast hosts do wrong, in my opinion: not insisting on getting specific answer but letting the guests get away with vague answers.
@SiddhantEkaleАй бұрын
Yes, I caught onto that as well. Elad, obviously has answers to all of this, because seems like a very rooted guy, but that approach of interviewing where without being an a**, you can probe more, is so refreshing to watch
@Ajay_Cheema2 ай бұрын
Love the probing approach. Depth is where it's at. Y'all should do this more often.

Great interview. Would be great to have it cut to Sam and Shaan talking post-interview (or the link to the pod that then discusses...) their takeaways and how their thinking or investment strategy might have changed post- interview.
@noahhaynes88622 ай бұрын
Been watching for 3+ years, never commented. But had to say: best pod in awhile. I think the high-production vs. low (Sam:Shaan) works well. Leans into your personalities more. Also, really appreciated the double/triple downing on probing questions. Depth > breadth imo. Nice to really peel back Elad’s thought process. Thanks for this one!

This episode have the same energy as the first interview between tim Ferriss and Derek sivers. (Circa 2015?). The secret sauce for these kinds of people is extreme intelligence combined with extreme thoughtfulness. Makes you great in any endeavor- business, relationships, life, etc… a true gem of a human

I was slow to put on this ep cuz the headline/thumbnail lead me with my investment style of s&p&me to think I wasn’t gonna get much but I pulled way more. When Sam says “That’s really hard to compete with,” that highlights the biggest lesson I think. His approach isn’t different; it’s opposite. Chasing money is A-tier, but his society-first pursuit is what takes him to S-tier in business and in life.

Hey everyone - I am looking for an old but recent MFM episode that I want to share w a friend but I can't find it. Who remembers the episode where they talk a lot about climbing down the mountain being one of the harder things to do? The topic was around project selection and not waisting time continuing to work on the same project if it's not a fit... you only have so much time so you have to be willing to go back down the mountain and start over. If anyone can think of which episode this was that would be super helpful lmk!

Disagree. Guest wasnt talkative at all. I think it s his attitude. Sam & Shaan tried to stay cool & nice and asked great follow up questions to get some concrete golden nuggets from the guest. They did a great job given that the guest wasnt super cooperative and a low energy guy.

On the topic of monuments, one that I've been impressed by is the African Renaissance Monument in Senegal. There is a lot of controversy around it, but it's pretty impressive. I imagine the little child on the guy's shoulder pointing to an island telling the him (in entitled British kid voice): "Look daddy, i want that one!"

In terms of monuments y’all have to look at the Arkencounter in Kentucky…Someone built a life size Noah’s ark. Or in terms of sculpture and public art look at the World War 1 Memorial that was recently unveiled in Washington D.C. created by Sabin Howard. Sabin will be coming out with a documentary about how he did it.
