Problem was the looney tunes as well as the writing, depending on your age. If you are over 30 then you probably relate and found enjoyment watching them on stage. But if you don't actively show your kids looney tunes they do no come up on major networks anymore so unless the parents force fandom this generation kids definitely do not relate to looney tunes. If the kids are not familiar with the characters a lot of jokes and tropes go completely over their head which is dumb for a movie based entirely on nostalgia. They should of had more recognizable IP like gobots or whatever kids watch these days. Another point to is back in looney tunes days there was only so few animation houses, now days there is a billion cartoons making vast amount of franchises, back in the day there was only a few dozen so everyone knew all the characters, only so many toys a parent can buy thus a lot of audience just doesn't relate to something they don't know anything about.

If younger people don't know the Looney Tunes and you play video games, go look at Multiversus. It's a free fighting game like Super Smash Brothers and has Bugs bunny, Taz, is going to have Daffy Duck, etc. Also characters like Lebron, Tom n Jerry, Iron Giant, etc. It's a cool way to get to know some of the old time cartoon characters!

I grew up watching the Looney Tunes and watching NBA basketball with my father. And ever since the first Space Jam movie came out I watch it and had a blast enjoying it. Now 2 decades later there was a new Space Jam and I took my children to go watch it and I admit I was a bit skeptic about seeing a different basketball player Lebron James being in it. But even after watching the movie I actually enjoy it so did my kids, it wasn't much the same as the original but I did quite had a time seeing the Looney Tunes and other nolstagia stuff that I grew up on. Sure the script was bad, Lebron's acting coulda need more work, and even the commercialism is degrading but then again so did the original Space Jam. I love both movies whether it's MJ or Lebron, I will never understand as to why the *real* reason Space Jam: a new legacy gets such hate nor will I ever understand how!

The issue of the movie is not the special effects its the horrible script, like how is this space jam 2. In the original it felt more like a biograghy of jordan, a bit of product advertisments, a good amout of looney toons, a great amount of basketball, and a solid plot. In the second one its a bit of lebrons biograghy (which is soo poorly executed and was changed to fit the stupid plot), a crap ton of product advertisments, a small about of basketball, great amount of looney toons, and a shity plot.

“Space Jam a new legacy” bombed because literally nobody wanted that movie. WB took everything we all loved about the 1996 movie, and took a huge crap on it. They brought ledoofus james in (who has the acting ability of a ham sandwich), a huge mistake. They also took out Pepe Le Pew and Porky Pig (because a bunch of whiny karens complained about those two characters, for whatever reason) and added in friggin Pennywise the clown (why? Who knows). So they took out two beloved Looney Tunes characters and brought in a horror movie monster… you know, for the kids. I think they took out Pepe because some dingleberry claimed he was a womanizer (not even close), but they didn’t bat an eye about a clown who eats children. I think I heard or read that they removed Porky because of his stutter or something. Either way, the movie failed because Warner Bros is a bunch of clowns (no pun intended on the Pennywise thing)
